Real Housewives of Orange County fans are experiencing the full effect of Alexis Bellino and John Janssen’s relationship on the group. The returning RHOC alum has been defensive since meeting up with Emily Simpson and Heather Dubrow for dinner. Additionally, her confrontation with Shannon Beador left her down some public support.
However, Alexis does have support from her group of friends. Further, Emily offered a sympathetic ear. And according to the lawyer’s statements in a recent interview, she’s been supporting her friend and John all along.
Emily exclusively revealed the moment she found out about Alexis and John on Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast.
Emily has “never had an issue” with the duo dating
“She told me that night, after Kathy Hilton’s party, we went back to Orange County together,” Emily said of the socialite’s event in November 2023.
“She told me that night in the car that she and John were a thing, like, they were in a relationship,” she continued. “I was like, ‘Oh, OK. OK, alright.’”
The RHOC veteran insisted that she’s “never had an issue” with Alexis dating Shannon’s ex-boyfriend. The duo have been friends for years, though they never filmed together.
“I mean, they’re adults, they live in Orange County, they like each other, they seem happy, that’s fine. I was like, ‘Ooh, this is interesting.’ But I didn’t think less of her or anything,” Emily explained.
“I just thought it was odd,” she added of Alexis dipping into the Bravolebrity dating pool. “But you talk about girl code, she doesn’t owe anything to Shannon. They’re not friends, they never filmed together.”
Perhaps it’s hard not to be happy for a couple that are “very, very, very happy” together. However, Shannon has more public support, despite her DUI arrest in September 2023, and continuing to drink.
Emily dished to Page Six, “I think Shannon’s really winning, and I think she deserves that. I think that she came into the season with the deck stacked against her.”
“She’s got a DUI, she has John’s new girlfriend, she’s getting sued,” the reality TV star explained, “and I think she just continues to look like the bigger person and the better party in all of this.” Interesting take.
