Meanwhile, Tamra confronted Heather for not checking on her, while Katie claimed that she had been covering for Gretchen and her fiancé, Slade Smiley. Here’s what happened in RHOC Season 19 Episode 8: “Truth Tellers & Lie Detectors.”
What happened in The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 19 Episode 8?
Gretchen and Gina met with Kiki Monique, who confirmed that Katie shared the roofie story. At Emily’s Persian New Year’s party, she surprised the RHOC ladies with lie detector tests. And one housewife failed spectacularly.

Gretchen and Gina met up for lunch. “I am just feeling beyond betrayed,” Gretchen said in her confessional. Then, radio host Kiki Monique joined the duo. Gretchen had invited Kiki and asked Gina to be a witness to the conversation. Sadly for Kiki, her reputation is trashed because of this RHOC drama.
In a flashback, Katie admitted having lunch with Kiki in October, and nothing was mentioned about Gretchen. At all. “I don’t remember how exactly you came up, but she said that you guys had gone to dinner,” Kiki remarked. “And at the dinner, she was like, ‘Did you know at that naked wasted night that Gretchen had to go to the hospital after, and she was drugged?’”
“That is just literally insane to me,” Gretchen told Kiki. “I don’t even understand why she would say that.”
However, Kiki had more tea to spill. She added that Katie also brought up Gina. Mainly, how Gina made a dig about Katie wearing Asian designers. Cue the unseen footage of Katie relaying the incident to Jenn. “And I did say, ‘Oh, is that an Asian designer,’ because I was f*cking pissed at this girl by this point,” Gina admitted. After Kiki left, Gretchen started to cry. Gina reassured her that “everybody else will have your back.”
Emily plans a Persian New Year’s celebration in RHOC
Nowruz is the Persian New Year, which celebrates the spring equinox. Pary, Shane Simpson’s mother, is Persian. Usually, Pary hosts a New Year’s party, but Emily is hosting her own.
Hilariously, Katie is hoping that this party will usher in a new beginning for the friend group. Nope! One week earlier, Gina and Emily hatched a plan to have everyone take a lie detector test.
So, Emily has two experts hidden away in her home, prepped and ready. Plus, she made an anonymous questionnaire so people can ask juicy questions about each other. Meanwhile, Gina hasn’t told Emily that she and Gretchen met with Kiki.
Well, Tamra arrived late, and she shared with Emily that she was disappointed that she hadn’t heard from her. Emily apologized and explained the recent issues with her son, Luke, and his eating disorder.
Then Tamra apologized and embraced Gina. While Tamra voiced concerns about Katie, Gina whispered, “Don’t worry about Katie … because we’ve got her.”

Finally, Emily revealed that everyone was taking a lie detector test. Katie looked concerned, but said, “Okey dokey.” Now the ladies understood why Emily hadn’t served any alcohol. Welp, they will need it after this test.
This is getting interesting, folks! And the questions got real in a hurry. Emily was asked about speaking badly about Heather in front of her children. And Heather was asked if she called the paparazzi when she was at Disneyland with her hubby, Terry Dubrow.
Finally, it was time for Gretchen and Katie to be hooked up to the machine. While Gretchen was stoic, Katie complained of feeling anxious and nauseous. First, Katie was asked about playing the recording that she made of Shannon for Alexis Bellino. She was also questioned about leaking stories to the media. When asked if Gretchen told her that she “was drugged,” Katie responded, “Yes.”
Then it was time for the big question. Did Katie tell Kiki that Gretchen was drugged and went to the hospital? Once again, Katie denied it. “I told the truth, and that’s all I can do,” she said in her confessional. “I’m tired of being the fall person for all of Gretchen’s lies.” After Katie walked out, the examiner said, “She’s so full of sh*t.” Yikes!
Meanwhile, Gretchen was quizzed about planting stories about Tamra and going to the hospital after the naked wasted party. She also denied telling Jenn and Katie that she was drugged at Tamra’s long-ago party.

Then it was time for the results. Emily passed, showing that she didn’t talk badly about Heather in front of her kids. However, Tamra failed the question about being told that she was on the autism spectrum. “That’s bullsh*t!” Tamra exclaimed.
Next, Jenn failed “significantly” when she was asked if she had “any serious reservations about marrying Ryan [Boyajian].” In her confessional, Jenn pointed out that she is worried about getting divorced again. Not her relationship with Ryan.
Then it was Heather’s turn. She admitted that she would prefer to be part of the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. But it is only because of the commute. However, Heather failed when she denied calling the paparazzi. WOW.
As for Gretchen? She told the truth about not planting stories about Tamra in the media. She was also honest about not telling Katie and Jenn that she was drugged and stated that she didn’t go to the hospital.
However, Gretchen previously admitted to Shannon and Tamra that she did go to the hospital. In her confessional, Tamra did a little research on her phone. “Some liars, especially practiced, can pass,” Tamra read aloud. “She’s a known liar.”

Meanwhile, Katie failed when she said that she didn’t tell Kiki about Gretchen allegedly being drugged and that she didn’t play the recording for Alexis. Once again, Katie flunked when she claimed that Gretchen told her that she was drugged.
“Those questions for you about Gretchen, you failed those very badly,” the examiner told Katie. “I didn’t lie,” Katie responded. She added that after the Mastro’s dinner, Slade called her husband, Matt Ginella, and said, “Don’t share this.”
Finally, Gretchen revealed that she met with Kiki, and the blogger confirmed that Katie shared the roofie story. In addition, Gina added that Katie was “insinuating that I was racist.” Finally, Emily asked Katie to leave.
Outside, Katie spoke with producers. “Matt and Slade and Ryan have all had phone calls about this,” Katie told them. “I’m done.” In her confessional, Katie said, “No one is going to believe me. But I can lie my head at night knowing I told the truth. This might be like the last time anyone sees me with this group of women.”
Then, “TO BE CONTINUED” flashed on the screen.
