Teddi Mellencamp never shies away from conversations surrounding her cancer journey. Case in point, last year, this Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum underwent an emergency brain surgery. Her previously diagnosed stage 2 melanoma had progressed to stage 4, metastasizing to her brain and lungs. Now, her hair is growing back, but as Teddi just asked her followers, “My question now is, now what?”
Teddi’s health journey continues as she bravely battles cancer
Last October, following her emergency brain surgery, Teddi revealed something beautiful. Her latest scans showed “no detectable cancer.” However, she is not officially in remission, Teddi noted, since “The way the doctors said it works, it’s like one year, then two years, then at three years you’re allowed to be considered in remission.”
These days, her hair has grown back to the point where it’s “too long for the wigs,” Teddi just admitted in an Instagram Reel. So, she prefaced, “This is a question for all my cancer friends out there. You guys have been so much help and given me amazing referrals for great wigs that I’ve been using for the past however many months.” However, Teddi confessed, combing her hand through her short blond locks, “I’m sick of the wigs.”
So, Teddi asked, “What are we supposed to do here?” Then, in her caption, she jokingly penned, “I currently have the same hairstyle as Cruz, and I don’t have nearly enough ‘rizz’ for that.” Therefore, ‘Send tips,” Teddi pleaded. But not about her roots, she further joked, since she is already well aware that those need a touchup.
In her comments, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Angie Katsanevas supportively chimed in. “We …. as in me … just need to shape it. I want to fly out and give you a beautiful haircut. I’m going to send you some inspo pics. Your face is gorgeous. I have the perfect high body count hairstyle while you are growing it out.”
Now THAT’S women supporting other women.
