Welcome to the recap for Summer House Season 10, Episode 16, the finale! We’ve nearly reached the end of this chaotic season, watching Kyle and Amanda fall apart, all while looking for clues about her and West at the same time. So, let’s wrap this up, shall we? Last week, Kyle took out his angst with Amanda on Carl, and the two exploded, leading into an epic fight. Meanwhile, Jesse was shocked to learn that Ciara was still open to something more with West. But would West make a move? Here’s exactly what went down in Summer House Season 10, Episode 16: “Ski Ya Later.”
What happened in Summer House Season 10, Episode 16?

The finale ended with some major changes for the group, both good and bad. Carl gave Lindsay a much-needed apology for everything that went down between them when their relationship ended. Meanwhile, Ciara was hopeful she and West could have something more again when he kept making out with her. Unfortunately, she didn’t know that he was telling Ben he didn’t want anything between them. And finally, Amanda told Kyle they needed to take a break. However, she did not say they were done for good.
Lindsay and Carl had a talk that was a long time coming

Ciara’s après-ski party was in full swing. Everyone was having a blast … until things got serious between Kyle and Ciara, and Lindsay and Carl.
Kyle looked like he was in time out as he and Ciara discussed the night before. He noted that the talk they had about Amanda wanting to separate still lingered in his mind. Kyle stated, “I just felt hurt and very scared for the future.”
Ciara explained it was “hard to be your friend” when he lashed out at others and said, “F*ck you.” She let Kyle know no one was rooting for him and Amanda to separate; they just wanted to support him. Kyle apologized, but Ciara reminded him that Amanda was the one who needed an apology the most.
Another apology that needed to be had was between Carl and Lindsay. It had been two years since their infamous breakup, and Lindsay realized she needed closure after all.
And she shared that with Carl. But it wasn’t just his mom acting out of pocket that bothered her; it was Carl never reaching out after what went down between them.
She said, “Everything just fell apart, like two months before our wedding … How can my best friend of eight years treat me like this? I thought that our friendship went beyond the TV show.”
Lindsay added that she thought Carl should have said, “I’m honestly having second thoughts. I think we need to postpone our wedding.’” Can anyone imagine Lindsay acting calmly even if Carl had taken that approach?
Carl teared up and shared that they had a lot of good memories. He said, “I just didn’t handle any of that situation well at all.” He then thanked Lindsay for all that she had done. Her wish for closure was granted.
West wanted to be in the friend zone with Ciara

Ben finally made things official with Sabrina and fully committed with an “I love you.” Sabrina was on cloud nine and immediately told Ciara. While the two planned their future double dates with Ben and West, West told Ben he wanted Sabrina to chill out on trying to make things happen with him and Ciara.
West stated, “Tell her to not try to make us date each other in the moment … If I’m being so honest, I think we both know that we like have always liked each other like that … But I know what happened when I tried dating her casually, and I really f*cked her sh*t up.”
He then added it was hard to “ignore” their sexual tension. West told Ben when he was really into Ciara last night (not mentioning that long hug he had with Amanda).
West said, “That being said, I am not trying to portray that I am a boyfriend … The biggest problem? I couldn’t say that two years ago. And I should have.”
Meanwhile, Amanda continued to avoid Kyle’s attempts to apologize like the plague. She felt it was rinse, wash, repeat. Instead, she lamented to Mia and Ciara while downing a ramekin of blue cheese.
However, she told them to not treat her with kid gloves. So, Ciara took the gloves off and said, “You are in charge of your life; you have to stop letting life happen to you.” Separation came back up, and of course that’s when Kyle walked over. But the three were cool as ice, so he quickly turned around.
In his confessional, Kyle felt like the end was near. He said, “I feel like I just gave her everything she needed to kind of walk right out the door.”
West immediately left the friend zone with Ciara

Kyle tried to apologize one more time, but Amanda wanted to jump in the pool with everyone instead to celebrate the end of summer. While she was really celebrating who knows what, Kyle cried about their relationship in his confessional. He said, “I don’t want what we have here to just all the sudden disappear.”
That sad moment quickly ended as they all rallied to go out and party. When everyone came back and went to bed, that double date that West did not want a few hours ago happened right before our eyes. Sabrina, Ben, West, and Ciara were all outside. And West went in for a kiss with Ciara.
The making out didn’t end there either. Ciara went into West and Jesse’s room, where it continued. Jesse was gobsmacked.
After Ciara left, Jesse wondered about Kyle coming back to see Amanda at six in the morning. West quipped, “She wants you dead!” This was suddenly turning into one of those Dateline specials.
A few hours later, a very much alive Kyle tried to hug Amanda. She responded, “Nope!” And any talking was still off the table.
Meanwhile, Jesse wanted to know what was going on with West and Ciara. However, West didn’t have an answer. When Ciara told Mia she kissed West, Mia gave her side-eye. She did not want her friend hurt again and reminded her how much of a wreck she was when they broke up.
Ciara reassured Mia, “Rarely have I made the same mistake twice.” But Mia wasn’t a believer. In her confessional, she knew West was a charmer. As much as she tried, she couldn’t help but like the guy. Mia sighed, “I just hate what he did to my friend.”
Amanda breaks up with Kyle … sort of

Everyone convened in the living room to enjoy their last brunch together. After Lindsay gave a quick recap of the summer, Carl requested a group hug. And the hugs continued as everyone left the house. Although Amanda gave Ciara a handshake and jokingly said, “It was nice working with you.” Awkward!
Mia told West to take care of Ciara and added, “I’ll kill you if you don’t.” Although she didn’t know what was to come, you could tell Mia knew nothing good would come of this latest development.
Then it was down to just Amanda and Kyle. When Amanda asked him to talk, everything Kyle had been dreading came to fruition. Their relationship, just like the front door to the house, remained broken no matter how many times they tried to fix it.
Kyle brought up Ciara suggesting they separate, and Amanda threw her under the bus. She said she wasn’t interested, even though she told Ciara the opposite. What rattled her was him saying “f*ck you” and fighting with Carl.
Amanda shared the past ten years of their lives have been on the show. Then she pulled the trigger. She said, “And I feel that leaving here this weekend, I want to close that chapter. And start over, whatever that looks like for us … I just feel like we need some time apart right now.”
Kyle didn’t know what to do. So, they hugged, and kissed, and then drove off on their separate ways.
Summer House airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It can be streamed on Peacock the next day.
