Season 15 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills kicked off with Sutton Stracke minus her bestie. Garcelle Beauvais walked off-stage at last season’s reunion, quitting RHOBH and terminating her relationship with her co-stars. Plus, Sutton fired her assistant and friend, Avi Gabay.
When Erika Jayne and Kyle Richards questioned Sutton about why Avi was no longer working for her, Sutton was vague. She thought that their working relationship ended on good terms, but noted that “things get complicated.” So, Sutton came into the season without her two good friends, and will need to work on her relationships with her RHOBH co-stars.

During The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Sutton revealed more of what went wrong with Avi. “Avi and I had a great run. But things come to an end. It was just a business decision for me,” Sutton explained.
She continued, “I was coming to a point in my life where no children were going to be in my house; I didn’t have a storefront that needed tending to. So, it was just time.” Sutton added, “And you know, we had run our course … I just didn’t need anybody in my house all the time.”
Of course, Sutton could be a tough and exacting boss. When her boutique popped up with a “for lease” sign, Sutton blamed Avi, claiming that he forgot to pay the rent. Still, her co-stars feel there is more to the story. “I was just shocked … that something crazy, detrimental had to have happened,” Bozoma Saint John noted.
Finally, Sutton addressed the state of her friendship with Avi. Spoiler alert: it’s not good. “I don’t talk to Avi. I was, um, surprised that, in letting him go, that it was going to terminate the friendship as well,” Sutton stated. “That was a surprise for me.”
