It’s over for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp and Ricci Rea. The couple, who had been dating for about a month, called it quits. As you may recall, Teddi is in the process of divorcing her husband, Edwin Arroyave. She is also battling cancer. So, Teddi is dealing with a lot.
Perhaps the fact that the duo has already parted ways isn’t altogether shocking. Still, we always want the best for Teddi. Recently, Teddi opened up about why their new relationship ended and what she needs to focus on now.
Teddi Mellencamp and Ricci Rea’s breakup came after things got serious
During a recent episode of her podcast, Diamonds in the Rough, Teddi detailed the split to her co-host, Erika Jayne. Teddi stated that her relationship with the producer was “already done.” She continued, “It started getting to the point where it was starting to get a little bit more serious, and I was like ‘I don’t have the capacity for this right now.’”
Teddi, who is battling stage 4 cancer, revealed that focusing on her health needs to be her number one priority. “I don’t feel my best. So when I have downtime, I want to rest … It’s not even, like, about a need right now, and I think that’s the crazy thing about this,” Teddi explained. She added that Ricci didn’t do anything wrong, and stated that he “couldn’t be a nicer guy, but the timing sucks.”
RHOBH star Erika suggested that the couple take a break for right now. “Well, maybe you can take a pause and just maybe come back [to it in] the future or something,” Erika said, and Teddi agreed. Of course, Ricci’s identity was a mystery until recently. However, Erika made it known that she is a big fan.
