Vicki Gunvalson is back to stirring the Orange County pot. The Real Housewives of Orange County alum, who proudly holds the title of the “OG of the OC,” helped launch the franchise and became known for her fiery opinions and no-filter attitude.
Over the years, she’s formed tight bonds with some castmates like Tamra Judge, while her dynamic with Heather Dubrow has always been more polite than personal.
Of course, in true Vicki fashion, she let everyone know exactly why Heather just doesn’t fit in with the rest of the cast.
Vicki Gunvalson thinks Heather Dubrow “does not fit” on The Real Housewives of Orange County
During a recent episode of her podcast, My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast, Vicki answered a question about whether Heather fits in on RHOC. Her response was blunt.
Vicki began, “She does not fit into Orange County. She’s very liberal. Orange County is a Republican conservative county. How do I know? I speak to the women and men in Orange County.” It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time Vicki said that Heather should leave the show.
Afterward, Vicki argued that Heather fits better on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Earlier this season, Heather admitted during a lie detector test that she would rather be a castmate on that franchise, which is known for its wealthier stars. She even bought (and sold) a home there.
Vicki also shared her thoughts on Heather and her husband Terry Dubrow’s lifestyle. “I don’t resent anything that they have built and have and inherited,” she said. “She just doesn’t fit in … Your house values are $1 million to $5 million in Orange County. Hers is like $50 million. It’s hard to break bread with that. I don’t think she understands or appreciates the $1-5 million dollar homes.”
At one point, Vicki even suggested that Bravo should “pause” Heather from the show entirely.
When asked about political differences among castmates, Vicki explained that they usually avoid those discussions. “We typically don’t talk about it, but it’s very clear,” she said. “And Kelly Dodd is very clear on speaking about it outwardly. I don’t [share my politics], but it’s very clear where Heather and Terry are coming from.”
Later in the podcast, Vicki switched gears to praise her longtime friend Tamra. “She can act really well,” Vicki said. “She knows what to do. She’s a making-money girl, and I’m so proud of her … She knows what to do to stay on that show.”
New episodes of The Real Housewives of Orange County air on Thursdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
TELL US – DO YOU AGREE WITH VICKI THAT HEATHER IS TOO LIBERAL FOR ORANGE COUNTY? SHOULD THAT EVEN MATTER?
