I have always had a soft spot for the ladies of the Real Housewives of New York. For eleven seasons, these ladies, despite several cast shakeups, always delivered. From the drama to the humor, they have consistently brought a type of chaos that only they are capable of pulling off. But since season 12 debuted earlier this year, their streak has come to an end. I hate to admit it, but RHONY is not what it once was.
After Bethenny Frankel announced her departure from the series for a second time following Season 11, fans knew the show would be going in a different direction. The vibe would change. And sure enough, it has. And it seems that the fans who vowed not to watch Season 12 sans Bethenny have followed through on that promise.
With a mid-season exit from Real Housewives of New York star Tinsley Mortimer and a set of new taglines, I really had high hopes for the rest of the season of the show. I want this show to work. But in Tinsley’s absence, Dorinda Medley’s outbursts, which have been a recurring theme this season, have been redirected to longtime friend Ramona Singer.
While I’ve always loved RHONY, I’m not crazy about how either one of these ladies is acting this season. This entire season has felt like Ramona would much rather be out socializing with her “fake friends,” as co-star Sonja Morgan puts it, partying in the Hamptons and climbing the social ladder. Meanwhile, Dorinda is holding nothing back as she unleashes her frustration on her fellow RHONY ladies. While this season was filmed nine months ago, the drama is still raging between Dorinda and Ramona off-camera.
Just yesterday, the reality television world was given quite the shakeup. Bravo announced on June 9th that Vanderpump Rules stars Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, and newbies Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni were all fired for racist behavior. While many networks and companies are posting about the Black Lives Matter movement, it’s amazing to see a company like Bravo take such bold, public action. I truly feel that this is just the beginning of a long line of changes to be made in the entertainment industry. This is definitely a step in the right direction, as many Bravo stars agree.
Stassi has been feeling the effects of both her behavior and her firing. She’s been dropped by her agent, her PR firm, and many brands have cut all ties with her. And the fallout doesn’t seem to show any signs of stopping.
We are truly living in unprecedented times. As we were all healing from the coronavirus pandemic, America is now mourning the death of George Floyd. While protests have gone on in all 50 states, many celebrities have taken to social media to express their opinions, their hurt, and have shared ways in which we all can help.
One celebrity who is always raw and honest is former Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel. Bethenny is always very open about her opinions and feelings on current events going on in the world. She has done some amazing work with her BStrong foundation to help people during times of crisis. Most recently, Bethenny delivered 1 million protective suits to New York, among other efforts to combat the coronavirus. And now, Bethenny is expressing her feelings on George Floyd’s death and the protests.
You can now own a piece of Real Housewives history! Former Real Housewives of Miami star Ana Quincoces has called on housewives from all cities to donate some of their most iconic reunion dresses to be auctioned off for coronavirus relief efforts.
Housewives from all over the country answered Ana’s call and donated some amazing reunion dresses. This is such a fun and creative way to give back to our frontline workers. If you’re a Housewives superfan, you don’t want to miss this auction. Ana has collected over 30 pieces from not only the Housewives, but also Andy Cohen himself!
One of the best things that has come out of quarantine is the throwback marathons on Bravo. There’s something so nostalgic about watching our beloved Bravo stars before they had stylists and plastic surgery. Ah, simpler times. It’s fun to see where the stars we know today started from.
And apparently, I’m not the only one who appreciates the old school rawness of seasons past. Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent has been catching up on previous seasons of VPR while stuck at home with her fiancé Randall Emmett. Lala has come a long way since her hostess days at Sur. But her biggest takeaway? Her new face.
I truly cannot imagine how Southern Charm star Cameran Eubanks is feeling right now. First, she confirmed that she would not be returning the show via an Instagram comment. Then, she released a statement slamming rumors that her husband Jason Wimberly was having an affair. She’s having a rough week, to say the least. And the drama just keeps unfolding.
While Cam has been on Southern Charm from day one, she has always managed to keep her private life private. Her husband has remained off of the show. In her statement, Cam explains that vicious rumors like these are the reason why she’s always protected her marriage from reality television. Even though Cam squashed the rumors herself, Jason’s rumored mistress is breaking her silence on the situation.
Things are heating up in Charleston. Even though Southern Charm isn’t currently on the air, the stars of the show are still stirring up drama on social media. Earlier this week, Cameran Eubanks took to Instagram to confirm that she would not be returning to the show. With rumors swirling as to why she came to this decision, Cameran responded with a lengthy statement shooting down vicious rumors about her marriage.
But sadly, it seems Cameran is just the first of many Southern Charm cast members to leave the series. None other than Thomas Ravenel has broken his silence about the current standing of the show. And if he’s telling the truth (for once), the show is in for a serious shakeup.
