The alternate universe of a charmed life in SoCal was a hit ten years ago and, as proven by the popularity of The Hills is still irresistible today. The life of an ultra-wealthy group of friends with problems only the 1% could dream of still draws in the viewers. We watched them living off their parents money in their early 20s. On shopped and partied their way into our hearts. A decade later, and some have added spouse and children into the mix. Maybe that makes the cast more relatable, aside from the obvious opulence of their houses, plastic surgeries, and wardrobes.

Also these days fans can keep up with the cast on social media. Maybe their real-time antics can be a bit of a spoiler, but it’s still fun to tune it and see how it went down. Take Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter. These two newlyweds seemed happy enough, though they were unable to agree on when to start a family. So when Kaitlynn was photographed making out with Miley Cyrus, it was a shock for fans who were still watching her onscreen with Brody.

During the original run of The Hills, Brody Jenner was known for his way with women. On The Hills: New Beginnings, Brody is a newlywed who has decided to showcase his marriage on reality TV. Apparently, he has learned nothing from almost every reality TV couple who has split after their prexisting problems were exacerbated by filming a reality show.

Brody and his wife Kaitlynn Carter have been passive agressively arguing since the first episode of the season. Their time on the show opened with Brody waking up after he slept in his car following one of his DJ gigs. That’s far from a sign of marital bliss. Kaitlynn has been pushing (a very disinterested) Brody to have a baby all season long while wearing three too many hair clips. Overall, these two have been uncomfortable to watch. And now they’ve announced their split, shocking pretty much no one who has watched this show.

The Hills: New Beginnings was, likely, highly anticipated by the audience that loved watching the original show a decade ago. The gamble with the reboot was whether those core consumers would tune in, especially since leading ladies Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari did not sign on.

Maybe fans are watching out of pure sentiment. Most of the cast that did return are living very different lives as parents and spouses. Even Brody Jenner has settled down. But the group still gets together and either mesh together as great friends or bicker. And that is very relatable still

Are you watching The Hills: New Beginnings? I can’t seem to help myself. Seeing ~~completely changed~~ familiar faces is oddly comforting in a way. Back in the old days, Brody Jenner and Spencer Pratt were buds. They did the LA club scene and while Spencer began his slow descent into madness, the CDC developed its own file on Brody. Spencer eventually settled down with Heidi Montag and Brody began dating ~~his first ex-wife~~ Kaitlynn Carter.

It is safe to say that Spencer does not enjoy the company of many people. That includes Mrs. Brody Jenner. Spencer feels Kaitlynn takes advantage of Brody and uses his famous name to her benefit. He also thinks Kaitlynn is the main reason Brody had a falling-out with his step-sister, Kim Kardashian. Now that The Hills is back, you can guarantee Spencer will be giving his opinion on literally everything. Including his thoughts on Brody’s wife.

Spencer Pratt Claims Mischa Barton Hides Her Drinking From Cameras On The Hills: New Beginnings

My winged eyeliner has been sharpened and ready! The Hills: New Beginnings has returned and ~~dug up~~ brought back some favorites from the early years of reality television. Along with familiar names like new moms Audrina Patridge and Whitney Port, Brody Jenner is showing up too. ~~My boyfriend~~ Justin Bobby Brescia and his flowing locks are back on my radar, thank goodness! Heidi Montag and crystal-carrying Spencer Pratt return as well. Of COURSE, they are. After years of begging and showing up to envelope openings, Speidi is being introduced to a whole new generation.

Coming along for the ride is new cast-member, Mischa Barton. She joins Brandon Lee to shake up the original crew and cause some drama. Of course, Mischa has already been through the dramatic ringer in her life. After achieving fame at a young age, she has admitted having past issues with drugs and alcohol.

Naturally, Spencer has lots to say about his ~~desperate~~ return to television. He also has lots to say about some of his new friends. One thing is for sure, hanging giant crystals around your neck doesn’t necessarily grant people the power to be nice.

MTV Announces A Premiere Date For The Hills: New Beginnings

Last week’s speculation that production issues would delay the premiere of The Hills: New Beginnings was, thankfully, proven unfounded.

MTV just released a trailer for the reboot. In it, fans can see a montage of scenes from the original show. If the visual memories aren’t enough, you get to hear the same Natasha Bedingfield theme song. It’s clear this whole project is marketed as a nostalgia trip for The Hills lovers, but they could have picked a new song.

Will Production Issues Delay The Hills: New Beginnings?

The Hills: New Beginnings is in need of some reshoots and the cast is not happy about it. Network insiders have said that the stars would have to commit an additional three months of their time to complete the process, and though the cast is made up of reality TV alums, the group was not anticipating the additional commitment.

The comeback of the hit reality show The Hills features most of its original cast with some new faces as well. Brody Jenner, Stephanie Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Frankie Delgado, and Justin Bobby Brescia will be accompanied by villainous couple Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag.
