Sutton Stracke’s outburst on last week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was BONKERS. It’s never nice to leave someone out of the loop, but her reaction was over the top. It proved that Sutton might not be built for a show like this. If she can’t handle something that mundane, how can she handle the big drama? Not everyone is equipped to handle the pitfalls of reality TV, and she might be one of them.
Erika Girardi has never shared that much of her life with the viewers. We’ve rarely gotten a peek behind that curtain of ice. However, the divorce announcement is coming this season. There’s no more hiding the situation from her closest friends. Will Erika be able to handle the pressure like a diamond? Or will the ice queen melt?
Last week’s episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ended with Sutton Stracke cautiously knocking on Crystal Kung Minkoff’s door before opening it and walking in. Sutton was convinced that bringing an outdoor coat from where it was left in the living room to Crystal’s bedroom would be appreciated. The gesture of a “good friend.” Unfortunately, Crystal and Sutton are neither “good” nor friends at this point.
Of course, editing wanted to delay showing Crystal’s reaction until the next episode. So we only know from the teaser that Sutton walks in on her naked, and she is not too happy about it. The mishap just adds to a lineup of very awkward behavior from Sutton during the cast trip.
The current season of the Real Housewives of New York is truly unlike any other. The smaller gang of five women take on the coronavirus pandemic (namely, Ramona Singer’s maskless antics) and a racial reckoning across the country that truly impacted NYC in a significant way. The show FINALLY added its first Black cast member Eboni K. Williams, a friend of Leah McSweeney and a totally badass career woman.
It’s clear as Bravo has started to diversify Real Housewives casts from many cities that the burden is being put on the woman of color who are responsible for educating and correcting the behavior of upper-class white women of privilege. Just look at Tiffany Moon’s first season on the Real Housewives of Dallas or Crystal Kung Minkoff’s first few episodes on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. And honestly, it’s not their job to be the moral compass of the group. Just show me their massive houses and fabulous lifestyles, and let the ladies who can’t get with the program read a book to deal with their own issues.
Last week’s RHONY episode was especially hard to watch. Luann de Lesseps called Eboni “angry” and kicked her out of her house for correctly saying she has more education than her fellow co-stars. The Countess needs a chill pill. I’d understand the outrage if Eboni was trying to be the queen of cabaret or a spokesmodel for Jovani, but that’s not the case.
I’m sure everyone will join me in once again thanking Kyle Richards for bringing Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave back to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Though Teddi is only visiting, her return was anxiously anticipated by literally no one other than Erika Jayne, who is now approving all requests for desperate friendships.
Ahead of being the newest member of the esteemed Fox Force Five, Teddi caught up with an old friend for an interview. She joined Jeff Lewis to bring everyone up to speed on what we’ve missed in her absence. After the crickets chirped, Teddi spoke on what she could have done differently in the Denise Richards drama and how she might have accidentally provided Bravo with her replacement.
This season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is coming out of the gate strong. Garcelle Beauvais has already been taking the women to task for their questionable actions. Although she’s moving forward with Kyle Richards, things are still murky with Lisa Rinna. Lisa’s owning that she was a horrible friend, but actions will speak a lot louder. Trust is a fundamental aspect to a relationship. Right now, the trust level is close to nonexistent.
Last week’s episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ended with a monumental argument. New wives Sutton Stracke & Crystal Kung Minkoff got into a fiery back and forth regarding race. Obviously this is quite the sensitive topic, but kudos to Crystal for standing her ground. If Sutton would take the time to listen to what she has to say their feud might be avoided. However, it looks like last season’s golden child is losing her shine after this.
Everyone watching this season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is holding their breath to find out more tea about Erika Jayne’s legal situation. Her divorce from Tom Girardi came at a questionable time, as it coincided with the longtime lawyer facing fraud and embezzlement charges. Mrs. Girardi claimed her 81-year-old husband was cheating on her, but everyone’s wondering whether or not it’s all a sham attempt at protecting their assets.
Tom is being accused of embezzling more than $26 million dollars to victims of horrific accidents and their families, including orphaned children. He can’t practice law anymore, his health is failing and he’s losing his home. Meanwhile, as of episode two, Erika is still prancing around her closets filled with designer clothes (probably deciding what to sell) and hanging with her $40k a month glam squad. It’s left a gross taste in everyone’s mouth to watch.
The big question is whether or not Erika was aware of Tom misappropriating legal funds to afford their lavish lifestyle and her wannabe pop music career. Miss XXPen$ive is doubling down that she didn’t know anything, but I’m with Sutton Stracke on whether or not I believe that. Evidence against Erika, including her signatures on a few questionable documents, point otherwise. But she’s saying she’s nothing but a scapegoat.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are off to the races, with a few new faces along for the ride. Garcelle Beauvais is back for round two, and this time she’s not letting Lisa Rinna dance her way out of being held accountable for her actions. Sutton Stracke officially has a diamond and is rumored to feud with everyone, particularly Erika Jayne. Because we know that Erika is obviously not taking responsibility for having a role in her soon-to-be ex-husband Tom Girardi’s legal issues. Kyle Richards’ other sister, Kathy Hilton, has graced us with her presence with her martini chugging and wardrobe full of t-shirts with inspirational quotes. And Crystal Kung Minkoff also joined the group this year and is already bringing more to the table than Erika has throughout multiple seasons.
Crystal is, so far, perfect Real Housewives material. She’s married to a big-time Hollywood movie maker, has an adorable little family and her brother is a major Chinese pop star. To be clear, joining a new group of fabulous ladies, particularly the RHOBH ladies who love a good gang up, can be a struggle. But Crystal is fitting right in and isn’t holding back her opinions of the other women. During last week’s episode, she and Sutton got into it when Sutton started dismissing Crystal’s experiences with racist stereotypes. Sutton has since apologized and Crystal forgave her, but we’re all waiting for that “ugly leather pants” moment that was teased in the trailer.
It looks like the Puppygate Girl Gang did not die with the end of #puppygate. The level of commitment, or whatever blood pact situation that is happening here has become both predictable and somewhat boring. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ current season will revolve around Erika Jayne and the unyielding support of her co-stars. Better make that some of her co-stars.
While Dorit Kemsley has praised Erika for her amazing
acting strength during such a difficult time, the same cannot be said for Sutton Stracke. Sutton has already been clocked for being the least supportive of Erika during the demise of her marriage. Now Dorit seems to think maybe Sutton acted this way to finally earn that diamond. Because implying someone does not believe Erika’s multitude of lies innocense is obviously too mind-boggling to consider.
