During Season 4 of Real Housewives of Dallas, the cast members were forced to deal with LeeAnne Locken’s repeated jabs at Kary Brittingham’s Mexican heritage. LeeAnne called Kary “Mexican and strong,” among other derogatory comments. After a bruising reunion, LeeAnne exited the franchise.
Then it was RHOD star Brandi Redmond’s turn to face accusations of racial insensitivity. Brandi made a video where she made fun of Asian people in 2017. In January 2020, a Twitter user posted the video, where Brandi was seen squinting her eyes and speaking in an exaggerated accent.
Leave it to the Real Housewives of Dallas to turn the birthday party into a brawl. Brandi Redmond is trying to have the birthday of a lifetime, but these women cannot stop fighting. Kary Brittingham & D’Andra Simmons have been at odds for weeks, and it’s finally boiling over. The underlying tension is spilling over at the vineyard, and it’s getting nasty.
There has to be more to this bickering than what’s been revealed so far. What is the root of this issue that’s threatening what was once a close friendship? They’re not taking the time to hear each other out to understand either. The more this festers, the worse it’s going to get. Kary & D’Andra are putting Brandi’s birthday in danger of being ruined because they cannot contain their animosity. Is this the end of their friendship?
Tiffany Moon may be a newbie on Real Housewives of Dallas, but she is bringing it this season. Tiffany is a married mom of twin daughters and is an anesthesiologist.
She brought a fresh vibe to RHOD, and I love it. Tiffany isn’t afraid to call out the other ladies, which is refreshing. When Tiffany hosted a traditional brunch for her co-stars, she insisted that they try a chicken foot. Of course, Kameron Westcott refused, then hid hers under the table. Second to the trauma from the chicken foot is the fact that the table had no centerpiece. How will Kameron ever recover? Spoiler alert: she won’t.
Real Housewives of Dallas has gone through quite the change this season. Gone is OG LeeAnne Locken after she was fired for the xenophobic things she said about castmate Kary Brittingham. In is a new housewife, Tiffany Moon, who seems to be holding her own so far. Well, if holding your own means getting thrown into a pool. Plus, seeing all the masks and face shields to accommodate during filming is just kind of weird. I am personally finding it hard to enjoy hard partying with a face shield while I sit at home isolated for the eleventh month. But I digress.
So far, with LeeAnne gone, it definitely seems like a lighter vibe overall. And no one seems lighter than one-time LeeAnne friend now foe, D’Andra Simmons. Who could blame her? All they did was constantly pick at each other over the last few seasons and it wasn’t enjoyable to watch. It was actually kind of grating. But now D’Andra has hit her stride and can reflect on what went wrong with her ex-friend.
The shake up in the Real Housewives of Dallas cast this season really changed the dynamic of the whole show. While there seem to be just as many cast divisions, the lines are drawn a bit differently this time around. D’Andra Simmons didn’t seem to mind Kary Brittingham’s relentless pestering of LeeAnne Locken in Season 4. This year, she’s taking the brunt of that energy herself.
While the tension between D and Kary is escalating, it seems D’Andra’s friend, and newest housewife, Tiffany Moon is finding herself in the cross-fire. Tiffany apparently offended Kary when she defended D’Andra’s decision to pursue COVID-19 testing. Which, say what you will about D’Andra, seems pretty reasonable? Either way, it all went left from there.
Jesus, take the wheel. The women of Real Housewives of Dallas are back on their shit. What even was this Brandi Redmond head on a stick wine party? D’Andra Simmons doesn’t totally deserve to have her hosting skills dragged by Kary Brittingham, but what in the actual fk was that?!
Overall, the dismissal of LeeAnne Locken and addition of Tiffany Moon has turned this franchise around. The parties have been lit, and the new cultural collides are heating up. Off screen, the women just can NOT stop slamming each other about behind-the-scenes shit talk. There’s also been news that there was a whole Housewife axed from this season. Who doesn’t love some post-production gossip?
Season 5 of Real Housewives of Dallas is really delivering. D’Andra Simmons is seeing a shaman, who either blows some stuff into her nose, or sucks something out. Working on herself spiritually is making a huge difference for D’Andra.
In December of 2020, D’Andra was diagnosed with Covid-19 and was hospitalized. She was in the ICU and was on oxygen. That is so scary.
Welcome to the new era of The Real Housewives of Dallas. Stop sleeping on this franchise because this season is a rebirth for this city. Both the removal of LeeAnne Locken and the arrival of Tiffany Moon have fully shaken up the landscape. Tiffany’s already not shying away from drama and is currently embroiled in a wildly petty feud with Kameron Westcott. Who knew chicken feet could have this sort of impact?
Sadly, Real Housewives of Dallas viewers have to endure yet another season with Kary Brittingham. If you found her annoying last season, she’s even more grating this season. Her newfound desire to poke and prod at D’Andra Simmons over everything is exhausting. Why is she choosing to constantly attack her alleged close friend? Is that what friends do. D’Andra’s seeing a shaman these days, but how much bullying can someone take before there’s no inner peace left?
