Real Housewives of Dallas star Brandi Redmond’s life has been a roller coaster lately. In January of 2020, a Twitter user posted a video of Brandi mocking Asian people. As a result, Brandi checked into a wellness center. Brandi’s ride-or-die friend, Stephanie Hollman, defended Brandi, saying that she was not a racist, but that “she made a horrible mistake.”
Season 5 RHOD newbie Tiffany Moon, who is Chinese, discussed the video and its effects with Brandi. Then Tiffany moved on, even if Brandi couldn’t. During the season finale, the Dallas ladies stayed at Southfork Ranch, the setting for the legendary television series, Dallas. Brandi and Kary Brittingham drunkenly murdered part of J.R Ewing’s bedroom. It was an embarrassing “situation,” thanks mostly to Kary.
Tiffany Moon. Period. Thank you Tiffany for breathing new life into The Real Housewives of Dallas. Looking at the returning cast, the lineup wasn’t that impressive heading into this season. However, the first season Housewife delivered in every possible way. The regular season might be coming to a close, but would we even have made it this far without her? D’Andra Simmons as well! Both of them were TOP TIER cast members this season.
One Housewife that many had soured on before the season even began was Brandi Redmond. Following her racist video mocking Asians, it’s astounding she remained on the cast. Why let LeeAnne Locken go but keep Brandi? Quite the odd decision. Speaking of LeeAnne, her nemesis last season Kary Brittingham had quite the sophomore season herself. Is there any hope to deem herself before the reunion?
With the camping trip out of the way, it’ll be interesting to see how things develop for The Real Housewives Of Dallas. Kary Brittingham was the absolute worst on that entire trip, and her behavior was despicable. The audacity to be that cruel and humiliate someone on national television the way she did to the Bigfoot hunter was gut wrenching. Stephanie Hollman should have held her accountable at a much higher level than she did. Shame on both of them.
Everyone in the group is in a decent place right now. It makes you wonder when the other shoe’s going to drop in the drama will break back out again. Brandi Redmond is finally starting to act more like herself around the group. Tiffany Moon is finally fitting in with the other women after the rockiest start of all time. However, in this group of women it doesn’t take much for the peace to be thrown out the window and the drama to kick into high gear.
Water is wet. The sky is blue. And Kyle Richards is talking about Lisa Vanderpump. Recently, an article was published on Vulture by author, Anna Peele. If you haven’t checked it out, you should. There weren’t a lot of stones left uncovered and Anna called the in-depth piece “my dream assignment“. She did interviews with Kenya Moore, Tiffany Moon, Andy Cohen, and Kyle, to name a few.
No one even vaguely familiar with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills would write an article without inquiring about the backstory. Obviously this would include Kyle and Lisa’s doomed relationship. LVP checked out in Season 9, but her memory definitely lives on. Some even say there are parts of Encino where the echoes of, “Goodbye Kyle!” still lingers in the valley. Anna shared some tidbits that weren’t included in her commentary, and one of those tidbits was courtesy of Kyle. Let’s just say, it’s business as usual in Beverly Hills.
Much-needed light has shined on racism in our country and certain celebrities on reality television have not been immune to their own issues. Viewers have seen several instances where someone’s credibility has been called out, only to have their tone deaf actions excused in the name of ignorance. It tracks, because racism at it’s core is based on ignorance, but is “not knowing any better” a reasonable excuse?
Tiffany Moon walked straight into a shit storm on Real Housewives of Dallas. The show already had a go with discrimination, courtesy of LeeAnne Locken. Brandi Redmond lead the tone deaf police during the Season 4 reunion, but she apparently forgot about her own dance with bigotry in 2017. When a video of Brandi mocking the Asian community resurfaced, it was time for Brandi to face the music, but did she? She was about to find out with the introduction of RHOD’s first Asian cast member. Now Tiffany reveals what it’s like experiencing anti-Asian rhetoric, and bearing the brunt of Brandi’s guilt.
Newbie Tiffany Moon had a bumpy season on Real Housewives of Dallas. Tiffany accused co-star Kary Brittingham of bullying her by trying to force her to drink tequila shots. At Kary’s ridiculous 50th birthday party, she pushed a fully dressed Tiffany in the pool. And Tiffany doesn’t know how to swim. What 50-year-old woman wants hot models to spray her with bottles of champagne? Apparently, Kary does.
RHOD co-star Kameron Westcott said that Tiffany talked down to her. Stephanie Hollman called Tiffany “obnoxious” for showing off her closet. If my closet had a fingerprint lock, I would show it off, too. That closet was magical.
Tiffany Moon came into a very rough season on Real Housewives of Dallas. LeeAnne Locken lost her star after making fun of Kary Brittingham’s Mexican heritage and Tiff was tapped to fill the spot. Unfortunately, ignorant comments didn’t end with LeeAnne. Brandi Redmond made a very bad decision when she posted a video ridiculing Asians. What was supposed to be a “humorous take” on her “squinty eyes” proved to be a lesson in what tone deaf means.
As a result, Brandi played the victim-of-her-own-mouth. She checked herself into a wellness center amid suicidal thoughts. She attempted to make amends. But no amount of remorse could make Tiffany less Asian, which apparently made Brandi feel uncomfortable in Tiffany’s company. Tiffany has been nothing but accepting of Brandi, despite her insensitive misstep. But make no mistake, Brandi does not like it when the clip is mentioned. Now Tiffany has some advice for Brandi going forward. The video is here, it’s clear, get used to it.
Kary Brittingham was SO out of line on last week’s episode of Real Housewives of Dallas. Her antics (that she probably finds hilarious) are juvenile, disrespectful, and border on bullying. Enough is enough. Whether or not she agreed with the Bigfoot hunter and his lifestyle doesn’t give her the right to degrade him. He was a guest of Stephanie Hollman’s. What made her think it was okay to humiliate him in front of cameras?
Telling the man that he probably was packing a small sausage was too much. Kary apologized to Stephanie for what she did, but will she be able to do the same to Charles himself? That’s what needs to be done. To rectify her wrongdoings, she needs to look this man in the eyes and give a sincere apology. Is she even capable of doing that? Will she use this instance as a teachable moment for herself, or will she continue to be a brazen bully?
