If you're tuning into the this season's Teen Mom 2, you know that the girls are still bringing the drama and immaturity you've grown to expect from this group of mothers of the year. While some are trying much harder than others, there is no denying the heartache that Leah Messer Simms Calvert and ex-husband Corey Simms' are going through as they deal with daughter Ali's diagnosis in front of MTV's cameras.

In an interview with In Touch, Leah shares the wonderful news that Ali is doing much better than she ever anticipated, and everyone is hoping that her progress continues. Leah tells the magazine, “Ali is running. She has so much determination,” adding, “We’re in awe of how she handles adversity."

The reality star realizes that there is still a long road ahead for her family, but she's thrilled at how far Ali has come since they received the news of her rare and as yet incurable diagnosis. Leah reveals, “She’s doing so much better than expected. We don’t know what the future holds, but this is proof that we should never give up hope."

The young mother of three admits that the support of her fans has been immeasurable.  Leah explains, “One girl who reached out to me also suffers from muscular dystrophy. It made my hope for Ali so much more realistic.”

As much as I snark on Leah (and her co-stars), I am so elated to hear this update on Ali, and my thoughts and prayers go up for her continued strength and progress.
