RHOC’s Shannon Beador Opens Up About Being The New Housewife On The Block

Shannon Beador

Bravo revamped the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County this season. Bringing in born-and-raised California girl, Shannon Beador and Kentucky beauty queen, Lizzie Rovsek to replace fired-off Alexis Bellino and Grethen Rossi, along with Lydia McLaughlin, who chose not to return.

So what is it like to join one of the most successful of the Housewives franchises? Radar Online sat down with Shannon Beador to find out about her eccentric beliefs and the ups and downs of filming with veteran Vicki Gunvalson, Heather "Fancy Pants" Dubrow and feisty Tamra Barney.

At this point, Shannon Beador, says filming is "So far so good. … I think it’s a good opportunity to see the good parts of my life, my family’s life, and the things we all have to work on."

Beador got involved with the RHOC because the same architect, builder and designer worked on her home, worked on Heather Dubrow's old home — remember the humongous one that was too small?!? But it was not all smooth sailing for Shannon and Heather. "We’ve had our ups and downs through the season. Friendships are clearly tested and I’m a completely honest person. Whether the cameras are rolling or off, there’s not an off-camera Shannon versus an on-camera Shannon. I don’t know if that’s the case with all the women all the time." Sounds like she may be calling out our favorite "Fancy Pants" for not being real. But being real is something that Ms. Dubrow has always seemed to me in the past.

As for Vicki Gunvalson, Shannon was not so sure about the O.G. houswife. "I had my doubts about Vicki at the beginning because I was a viewer, but I was very pleasantly surprised that she and I are quite similar. I’m glad I got the chance to get to know her."

She also seems to get along with Tamra and her new husband, Eddie. "My initial impression of her was that she was a lot of fun and down to earth. My husband and I connected with her and [her husband] Eddie[Judge] very quickly."

Shannon also lives quite an eccentric lifestyle. In the premiere she is seen going to a holistic doctor, who she claims to see up to three times per week and admitted to not letting her children have cell phones because it could damage their brains. But props to her for building a completely green home so her kids could grow up in the "healthiest environment possible."

In a season full of cat fights, backstabbing and betrayal, a major fight goes down between Shannon and Heather. In the season trailer, Shannon Beador is seen screaming and almost getting pulled away from a table, while Heather Dubrow is left in tears. Radar Online asked if she could give any insight into the disagreement.

"I’m honest. I don’t fight with women. Yet if you try and cross me or someone in my family or [a] close friend, I’m absolutely going to stand up for myself. My 12-year-old daughter has a little saying. She says, ‘DMWSB.’ And that’s, ‘Don’t mess with Shannon Beador.’ There was an instance where a lot of these women might have walked away from filming and have concocted in their head what happened and it’s not necessarily accurate. When someone’s going to try and do that to me, I’m going to point out that’s not what happened. You can’t just pull stuff out of the sky and say that it happened."

My new mantra — Don't Mess with Shannon Beador! We will see if I still feel that way at the end of the season.
