Pretty much every Real Housewives show has a cast member with financial issues and a shady real estate situation. On Real Housewives of Potomac, Karen Huger is the one taking on that role with her secret move to Great Falls and her insistence that her husband is the “black Bill Gates.”
Nothing adds up, and Karen‘s costars accuse her of lying and living way outside of her means. In her blogs, on-camera interviews, and even in her interviews after filming, Karen adamantly denies money issues and just claims to want her privacy… even though she is the one who signed up to share her life with a reality TV show. Now she is teasing the mystery will be resolved when the reunion airs.
In her Bravo blog post, Karen shared, “I don’t want to give away too much about why I moved to Great Falls because it is revealed to the girls in the “fire” hot reunion taping. It’s not what they all thought! I am still shaking my head at my co-stars. They have so little faith in people sometimes. Stay tuned!” Then what is it? Of course the fans will have to wait until the reunion airs to get any clarity, but considering the recent rumblings about tax liens, it does seem pretty obvious.
When asked about seeing the ladies talk about her home on the show, Karen admitted, “It did not surprise me based on the way things were going lately that some serious gossiping was taking place among the ladies.”
She continued, “I give Monique [Samuels] a pass, but the rest of the ladies should be ashamed how they have questioned my character behind my back. If I have something to say, I will at least tell you to your face. They were all mad because I didn’t tell them my personal business. So, they went behind my back and even interviewed my guests. Enjoy the moment! Why be so divisive?”

Because that’s what this show is about – women either gossip or get gossiped about. That’s how this works.
Then Karen addressed the ridiculous Grand Dame title that carries zero authority in any scenario. Ever. She claimed, “Unlike what has been alleged, I am not the self-appointed Grand Dame. That title was bestowed upon me.” By who? The king and queen of Potomac, Maryland? Please.
Karen teased, “Check out the reunion and see how I handle the title. I am not sure why this is such a topic for discussion among the ladies. My name is Karen but I will gladly answer to the Grand Dame that I am. The girls will simply have to get over themselves and find the Grand Dame that exists in all of them!”
It is a topic of conversation because it is not a real title no matter how much you insist it is. It comes off as pompous and pretentious, aside from irrelevant.
