Yaaaaasss! The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 8 premiere is coming soon! We have the brand new sneak peek trailer AND…drum roll… NEW CAST PHOTOS! It’s a blood moon miracle, y’all!! Now we don’t have to start that Go Fund Me campaign to bankroll the pics ourselves.
Everyone is aware that child star Kim Fields is joining the show, but there are two other potential Housewives entering the mix. First is Shamea Morton, is an old friend of the demoted-promoted Porsha Williams. She also knows Kandi Burruss. The third name circling around a friend of Cynthia Bailey‘s named Tammy McCall-Browning.
Shamea, Kim, and Tammy all attended the recent cast trip to an unidentified tropical location!
Our favorite reality TV stars cannot get enough of the spotlight during their regularly scheduled time slots, so they take to social media to share even more of their lives with us. And we would not have it any other way. Here’s a roundup of some of our favorite snapshots and selfies from the week. Enjoy.
Phaedra’s real life has played out front and center via reality TV – from the birth of both of her sons, to her husband Apollo Nida going to prison, to a career change to mortuary science. Through it all Phaedra has remained stalwart and largely composed, but open-ish about the circumstances in her life – something she insists is intentional.
Phaedra curiously doesn’t mention her fractured marriage, although she does mention how important it is to think before you act and refrain from doing something you might regret while on TV!
Phaedra feels she is a living example of how “test builds testimony” – and one thing RHOA has taught her is the weight words carry. “I try not to say things that I can’t come back from. I’m always very careful, and just because you’re thinking something doesn’t mean that you should say it. But there’ve been a lot of times where I wanted to rip somebody’s wig off.”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is going to be a whole new ballgame next season. There are a so many new faces and a lot of recycled faces coming on board for this sure-to-be-drama-filled season that we can barely keep track of the guest list anymore! Most of them turned out Monday night for the kick off of Kenya Moore’s latest business venture – a hair care line, which was filmed for the show, of course.
Among those in attendance: Kenya Moore (with a new beau??!), Marlo Hampton, Sheree Whitfield, newbieAmiyah Scott, newbie Kim Fields, returning cast Porsha Williams, Phaedra Parks, and Kandi Burruss, showing off her adorable baby bump. Also returning – at least for a hello – is Claudia Jordan! She was rumored to have been dumped for the new season, but she was in attendance for filming and it wasn’t just as Kenya’s guest (if you’ll remember, she opened up attendance to fans on Instagram, too), as Claudia claims she was mic’ed. “They told me to go in and say hello and I was mic’d. It was waAAAAAY too many people in the scene.” She added that “it was HOT as hell in there! We left early.”
Apparently ‘Check My Charges’ Marlo Hampton now fits the Real Housewives Of Atlanta brand just like Sheree “She By SheBroke” Whitfield does! How the mighty have fallen. Despite promises of revamping Atlanta Housewives, Bravo decided, instead, to turn back time by returning BOTH Marlo and Sheree for season 8 – and they’re already fighting up a storm but not with each other… (Yet).
The new season of RHOA finally – officially – kicked off filming because NeNe Leakes‘ abrupt departure put the show in a tailspin. Reports from sources close to production say that Sheree has finalized her Bravo contract and is returning as a full time Housewife!
We can always count on the ladies of Real Housewives Of Atlanta to keep it 100! And to prove it they celebrated their 100th episode by spilling-all to Andy Cohen. “The Atlanta women are funny! We’re honest and real, and we never bite our tongues,” describes Kim Zolciak of the pride that comes with RHOA.
All of the Housewives – past and present – feel the success of the show and also its magic was that it showcased affluent African-American women. I have to ask, other than Kandi Burruss: Who are these affluent Housewives again? Certainly they’re not referring to SheBySheBroke?! (“A fashion show with no fashions?! How dreadful!”). And then they dish on bad hair (NeNe Leakes is voted the worst), bad fashions (no declarative winner) and worst fight (again, no declarative winner).
I was hoping Sheree and Lisa Wu-Hartwell would be appearing but they didn’t! My favorite part was seeing the ladies’ audition tapes – first of all how freaking different does NeNe look? But how freaking the same is her ego – large and in charge of everything!
