Brooks Ayers Addresses ‘Faking Cancer’ Accusations: “Useless Drama That Brings On Stress”

Brooks Ayers

In October 2014, Brooks Ayers told the world that he has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma for the third time. His on-again, off-again relationship with Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson was “on” at the time. Vicki immediately invited Brooks to move into her home so they could go through the battle together.

Because we cannot have nice things, Brooks‘ cancer and choice of treatments became the focus of Real Housewives of Orange County season 10 thanks to the poisonous web Tamra Judge spun. Her very creepy little mini me spider, Meghan King Edmonds, took the venom and ran. And ran. And ran. Meghan has gone to great lengths to prove Brooks faked his cancer. Brooks and Vicki insist the truth will come out (in their favor) on the show, but this week’s episode prompted Brooks to speak out now.

Straight and to the point, Brooks told ET, “I have cancer.”

Brooks said he is set to return to Los Angeles next week for another round of treatment. He does not say what treatment, but really, it’s none of our business. (Looking at YOU, ME-ghan!)

About Tamra‘s web and Meghan‘s venom, Brooks shared, “I think they do it to create drama – manufactured drama – and that’s sad to me. I’ve distanced myself in a lot of ways from it. It’s useless drama that brings on stress that quite frankly no one needs and in particular my situation.”

Brooks adamantly insisted, “I’m not running from anything.”

Addressing the supplements and IV therapy route he chose to go on the Real Housewives of Orange County, Brooks said, “My lesion, my inflammations, were gone. Gone! So I’m encouraged.” For his naysayers, he added, “Cancer doesn’t mean I should be lying around in a hospice bed.”

During last night’s show, Brooks tweeted, “I’m not faking cancer. Uggh. Please don’t buy into edited reality TV drama for ratings.” He later added, “Stay tuned and pay attention.”

This is one story line I refuse to touch. It makes me uncomfortable. (News Flash Bravo: this isn’t entertaining!) Consider me in the “wait and see” camp.
