Ramona Singer is trying to be supportive of Luann de Lesseps‘ sobriety in the only way she knows how: by questioning it to the press and asserting her own opinions about how Luann should handle recovery. Of course, given how well Luann’s sobriety went after her first stint in rehab, maybe Ramona has a point?
The Real Housewives Of New York star recently revealed that prior to re-entering treatment this July she relapsed with watermelon martinis, 2 whole bottles of rose, followed by a six-pack of beer. By. Her.Self. Luann reveals that being sued by her ex and children over her desire to move upstate for “a fresh start” promulgated her fall off the wagon. “I felt betrayed,” she told Megyn Kelly in an interview. “I had my heart set on that house. … I was devastated, and so I lost it.”
Luann now concedes that her ex had a right to sue her and she understands her children’s attachment to their Hamptons home. “Since then, I’ve decided to take something smaller and keep my home for the children because I love them.” Lu having a wakeup call about being selfish… shocking!
While Luann, who has relaunched her successful cabaret show, says she’s more committed to her sobriety than ever, her co-star and occasional frenemy Ramona isn’t so sure! “I think someone who gets out of rehab after two weeks…I mean are they really well? What kind of message are you sending to other people who have serious alcoholic problems?”
Ramona admits she hasn’t spoken to Luann since she left treatment for the second time, but she has been in contact with Luann’s pals – to let them know Luann needs more help. “Obviously she went in a few months ago for 30 days…I said to one of her friends, ‘Please have her stay for two months. So we’ll see… ‘” She also worries about Luann maintaining her sobriety once filming resumes. Ramona is an addiction counselor now, you guys! Tru-ReTreatment, coming next season. Or maybe Tru-Renewal Treatment Centers (Pinot’s on the house.)
Touching on some other RHONY business, Ramona is “terribly upset” that Carole Radziwill decided to leave the show. “I just thought she was such voice of reason,” she told E! News. “She was one person who, because she was a writer, could go up against Bethenny because I get all flustered and Bethenny just barrels over everyone. She was honest and real and giving and kind and smart.” Is she?
Speaking of Bethenny, Ramona has reached out in the wake of Dennis Shields‘ passing. “I’ve texted her my condolences.” She adds, “I just feel bad for the children. I mean he left four children behind and that just breaks my heart.”
TELL US – ARE RAMONA’S CONCERNS ABOUT LUANN LEGIT, OR SHOULD SHE STAY OUT OF IT? ARE YOU “TERRIBLY UPSET” THAT CAROLE IS LEAVING THE SHOW?
