Malia White has appeared on two seasons of Below Deck Mediterranean. During season 2, she was promoted to lead deck hand, and on season 5, Malia joined as bosun. Malia is undeniably successful, diligent, and competent at her job.
However,Malia’s love life on both seasons overshadowed her professional successes. First, Malia maneuvered a love triangle with chef Adam Glick and bosun Wes Walton. Now, Tom Checketts’ short temper is the main event. Since Tom joined the crew, Malia has spent most of her screen time coaxing him out of the bathroom and diffusing his temper.
A breakup seemed inevitable. And all signs indicated a split since Malia deleted Tom’s photos from her social media earlier this month.
Malia confirmed to Andy Cohen that she was no longer dating Tom on Watch What Happens Live, according to People.

“I am single, yes,” Malia said during the appearance. “I am very much single.”
Below Deck viewers know that industry romances are hard to maintain. Malia alluded to distance being an issue.

“This industry is tough,″ she continued, ″We work apart for a long time. There are some bad apples out there.”
Malia seemed to suggest that cheating was a reason for breaking up with Tom. Andy asked Malia if Tom had been unfaithful. She replied, “attractions happen.”

“Tom and I are done, I’m single,” Malia said, “That’s the downside to this industry. It’s really tough to work apart and work on these boats. Obviously, you’ve seen it, attractions happen and things happen.″
Tom’s behavior would be a deal breaker for some. And Malia is aware of status and reputation in the yachting industry. Regardless of the reasoning, a breakup was the best move.
