What hasn’t Kandi Burruss brought to reality TV? I’ll wait. She started out her time on Real Housewives of Atlanta with her then fiancé AJ Jewell and young daughter Riley Burruss. After AJ’s tragic passing, we watched Kandi fall in love with a RHOA crew-member, Todd Tucker. Fans indulged in season after season of Mama Joyce coming for Todd and Kandi staying true to her man. Kandi has brought us single-motherhood, a chaotic mother-daughter relationship, forbidden romance, a fertility journey, Bolo, and perhaps my least favorite, the smash hit “Don’t Be Tardy For The Party.” (The last one is her only unforgivable moment, IMO).
In honor of being reality TV’s most even keeled source of drama, Kandi has formally been nominated as a 2021 Reality TV star in this year’s People’s Choice Awards! In an interview with Entertainment Tonight Kandi gushed, “First of all, let me just say, I’m so excited that they even considered me.” She joked, “I feel like I’ve been doing this thing for so long that can I get a little something to walk away with?” I love that a stint on Celebrity Big Brother, The Masked Singer, and two break off TV series just isn’t enough for this boss.
Kandi is nominated alongside Erica Mena, Joe Amabile, Khloe Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Lisa Rinna, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. She exclaimed to her fans, “But I need you! I need you to vote for me!” She quipped, “Every year! The Kardashians win every year! When I see them on the list, I’m like, ‘Ahh what’s the point?'”
In her final statement Kandi declared half-seriously, “I need something from all my hard work, all the years that I’ve put into reality TV. Please vote for me. Tell all of your friends to vote for me and spread the word.”
Voting is open through November 17th! You can either head to the official voting site or get to Twitter with the hashtag of the category and your nominee pick.
