Real Housewives of Potomac had a lot going on this season. We saw Karen Huger’s attempt to break the Bravo vow renewal curse, after she was fully vassinated, of course. The food fight between Mia Thornton and Candiace Dillard was epic. Wendy Osefo introduced us to “happy” & “ness,” and totally shaded the haters (hint: they have green eyes) who didn’t like it. And we cannot forget Gizelle Bryant’s disastrous West Wing party, which was held in the dirt. The season was so epic, even Nicki Minaj showed up to the reunion.
One unexpected but omnipresent storyline on RHOP this season was the candle drama. Let’s be clear — Bravolebrities and candles have been having a love affair for years. But Zen Wen decided to bring the candle business to Potomac by starting her own home goods line (despite not having any semblance of a business plan at the beginning). Even though the odds were against her, she proved Gizzy wrong by successfully selling out her candles. And despite her newfound friendship with the Grande Dame, Karen released some La Dame candles of her own. But she’ll be the first to tell you that unlike Wendy’s, hers has THREE WICKS, not ONE. Get your facts straight.
There’s seemingly been no bad blood between La Dame and Wendy over the candle drama. But Messy Mia? That’s another story. Mia already debuted her own candles at the beginning of the season, after her first few scuffles with Dr. Wendy. But now she’s lighting a match with her new product and one-upping the ladies when it comes to who has the most wicks.
Mia debuted a new silver Buddha head candle that has NINE WICKS on her Instagram. First of all, it’s named the “Silver Grande Buddha” — is this GRANDE DAME approved? And secondly, she’s charging $1,540 for this one candle. Like, I get it’s a lot of wicks. But that’s a rent payment, honey. Who can shell out that much for a candle? No wonder Mia advertised the candle by writing, “the budget is not low” in the comments. So she’s coming for Karen, Wendy and CandeePants with this product. Now that sounds like someone grasping to get in the drama to me. Hopefully, we get to the bottom of #candlegate at the upcoming four-part reunion.
TELL US – WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MIA’S NINE WICK CANDLE? WOULD YOU SPEND $1,500 ON A CANDLE?
