Jen Shah’s legal drama is playing out on the current season of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The housewife finds herself in big trouble after being arrested for her alleged role in a telemarketing scheme.
As reported by Reality Blurb, Jen talked about her arrest and the events that followed on a recent episode of RHOSLC: After Show. As for being taking into custody by a law enforcement, Jen said she was completely shocked and confused. Said Jen of her arrest, “What was happening at this time, I think I was in shock. I don’t think I even knew how to process what exactly was happening. I definitely didn’t think this had anything to do with me.”
Upon arriving at a building, Jen was sure that her arrest was a “misunderstanding.” Someone informed her that she would be going to a federal building next. Jen said she wouldn’t go. She recollected, “The only thing they said was, ‘If you see anybody you know here, don’t talk to them,.'”
Jen noted that she did run into her longtime assistant and friend, Stuart Smith. She recalled, “Stuart and I are getting in the same elevator. They made him face the other wall so I wasn’t able to talk to him. We get up to the floor we were going to, we go into this room and they are like, ‘You are going to go see the judge.” Jen still assumed she was part of some kind of mixup and that she was the real victim here. She added, “Little did I know all America knew except for me… [It was] so completely surreal.”
As for Stuart, he has also charged for his role in the alleged scheme and has already pled guilty. The two became friends about 10 years ago when they worked for the same company. Jen recalled, “He was kind of an underdog in his department and I felt bad for him. I felt like, ‘He seems like a good person if somebody would just give him a chance or an opportunity.’ So part of when the company sold, they were going to get rid of him and I was like, ’No, you should keep him.’ I just felt like he was a hard worker and I saw him going the extra mile and I was like, ‘He just needs a chance,’ so that’s how our relationship started.”

She continued, “I must have saved Stuart’s job five or six times over the years because every time Stuart would get into some trouble, I would always go be like, ‘Listen, he means well.’” After leaving that company to focus on her “own things,” Jen brought Stuart with her as her assistant.
Jen admitted, “He literally knew more than Coach [Sharrieff Shah] knew as far as like, ‘You should get her this for her birthday,’ or, ‘Jen likes these tampons not those tampons.’ He was more of a personal assistant to me, than like, so-called business.” This is such a weird change from Jen trying to distance herself from Stuart in previous episodes of RHOSLC.
Since the two are currently estranged in the midst of all this drama, Jen said that she feels a “loss” over their relationship. She concluded, “This person’s not in my life anymore and to be ripped away like that with no explanation, you don’t know what’s going on, all you know is you’re not allowed to speak to him, there’s a lot of emotions that come along with that.”
