It has been a little over three months since the passing of Nene Leake’s late-husband, Gregg Leakes. Real Housewives of Atlanta fans watched some of Gregg’s early battle with colon cancer during season 11 in 2018. At the time, many questioned Nene’s support of her husband. Now, it feel like it’s all hands on deck to support and uplift a grieving RHOA icon. No matter how you slice it, Nene helped put RHOA on the map.
Since Gregg’s passing, there has been a lot of talk regarding Nene’s dating life. She has made comments about all the DMs she’s received from various gentleman. Now, she’s announced that she has started a new relationship with a man named Nyonisela Sioh. Nyonisela owns a couture suit company in Charlotte, North Carolina, though he is originally from Liberia Africa. Nyonisela was introduced to Nene by none other than Peter Thomas!
After Nene went public by sharing pictures of her new boo, the internet went wild with criticism and support alike. Married To Medicine star Dr. Heavenly Kimes even entered the chat. Let’s not forget this dentist fancies herself a ‘relationship expert’ as well. Radar Online shared an Instagram live video where Dr. Heavenly gave her opinion on Nene’s new man.
In the live Heavenly relented, “That’s NeNe life. Her husband gave her the go-ahead to live her life and do what she wants to do.” Really that’s all anyone should have to say on the matter. In case you missed it, Nene has shared some of the final conversations between herself and Gregg before his passing. She revealed, “Gregg and I had a very tearful conversation before his passing. His words to me were ‘be happy, keep smiling and he who finds you, has found a good one.’”

As for Dr. Heavenly, she claimed that Nene had “stood behind” Gregg while he was sick and it “was okay for her to move on.” She added, “It’s hard being out there by yourself. She’s a celebrity, probably a lot of dudes at her.” It seems like Heavenly is perfectly comfortable with Nene’s new love. Where she apparently draws the line with this romance is the public nature of it all.
Heavenly was reportedly “unimpressed” by Nene posting Nyonisela “all over social media.” She said, “I wouldn’t have touted this dude. Not me, I would have had nobody this soon. Even if I did, I wouldn’t have posted them.” Heavenly claims, “Nobody would know who I was sleeping with…Not everything is for Instagram. Maybe I am wrong.” Maybe she is.
