Straight from Frank Catania’s mouth. Recently, there has been a rumor going around that Jackie Goldschneider was demoted to a “friend of”. Jackie, who joined the cast of Real Housewives of New Jersey in 2018, had a particularly rough season personally. She openly struggled with her eating disorder and sought treatment while filming. It was a brave and important storyline and for that, she should be proud. Unfortunately, now Jackie is going to be taking a back seat.
As reported by Page Six, Frank recently went on the podcast The Morning Toast and confirmed Jackie was demoted. Said Frank,“I didn’t know for sure, [but] I went out to dinner the other night with Jackie and Evan [Goldschneider]. And, yes, I heard. Yes, alright, she is a ‘friend of.’”
Hosts Claudia Oshry and Jackie Oshry commented that they “didn’t agree with Jackie’s demotion at all.” Frank agreed and said that Jackie was having her best season yet. He shared, “I thought she had a great season. Not only did she come out with her respective eating disorder, which I know wasn’t easy for her. [But] look at Jackie evolving over time.” Frank added, “She’s been on the show, she came on as a timid little rabbit to the point where now she speaks her mind. I love Jackie.”
As for this past season’s “friend of” Traci Johnson, Frank seems to think she’s done. He stated, “I heard Traci’s gone.” But he did emphasize hat “nothing’s definitive ever here.” Jackie recently discussed Traci being cut out of the reunion. She remarked, “She was there for a really long time, she looked beautiful, and she had on a stunning gold dress. But I don’t think Traci said anything groundbreaking at the reunion that it had to go in. I really think they had to make a choice. I don’t think it was because they don’t think Traci was important to the cast.” Jackie added, “I just think that Traci always had an opinion, which always keeps the story moving forward.”
But the show must go on. Frank concluded by noting that the cast “just started” filming. He also teased, “supposedly we have some new girls coming on this year.”
