90 Day Fiance Alums Deavan Clegg And Jihoon Lee’s Son Has Leukemia

90 Day Fiance: The Other Way fans were introduced to precious Taeyang as a newborn in 2019.  His mother, Deavan Clegg was featured on Season 1 and 2 of the hit reality TV show pregnant with him, her second child. Taeyang was conceived during his parents first physical meeting together, and their attempts to make it work as a family was documented on the show.

Deavan even moved to South Korea with her newborn and daughter Drascilla in an attempt to build a family with Jihoon Lee. Despite Deavan’s best efforts and a traditional Korean wedding, she called it quits and returned to the USA. The couple officially split in 2020.

Since then, Deavan has moved on with boyfriend Topher Park, with whom she is expecting her third child.  She often shares images of her little ones with Topher, and it’s clear Topher has stepped up as a father figure.  Sadly, as Entertainment Tonight reported, that happy family dynamic was shattered when Taeyang was diagnosed with leukemia.

Deavan shared the heartbreaking news on May 31 with an Instragram post.  She wrote, “I have vowed to always be 100% transparent with you guys and I am choosing to share the most vulnerable and saddest point of my life right now in hopes it can help give anyone else dealing with a similar situation some strength. I’m overcome with so much emotion and devastation to announce that my beloved son Taeyang who just celebrated his third birthday last week was just diagnosed with childhood cancer, b-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia just a few days ago.”

Accompanying the announcement were a set of photos of Taeyang in hospital.  Deavan confirmed that he already started chemotherapy and had multiple procedures done.

“This is every parents absolute worst nightmare and I’m trying hard to stay strong for Taeyang, Drascilla and my baby in my tummy,” Deavan continued, “Taeyang will need around the clock hospital care and this will be a long two year process that has a high success rate of full recovery in five years. I’m still processing all of this and asking for prayers, please.”

Deavan has worked quickly to connect with supporters and is asking for donations through a gofundme.  She explained, “If anyone would like to donate to assist with his medical care, I would be forever grateful as this nightmare has been completely unexpected. The link to donate is in my bio. I’m so beside myself right now and my heart is broken.”

For those wanting to send well-wishes, Deavan set up a P.O. Box just for Taeyang.  She shared the information on a recent Instagram post, apparently Taeyang’s grandmother Elicia Clegg is taking care of that correspondence.

Finally, Deavan thanked her fans for all the support they have shown since Taeyang’s diagnosis.  She ended the post with the following hashtags; #leukemia #childhoodcancer #prayersfortaeyang #westandwithtaeyang #teamtaeyang.

Many fellow reality TV stars added words of support to the massive outpouring that Deavan has received.  90 Day Fiance alum Corey Charles Rathgeber commented, “I’m so sorry.  I hope all goes well.” Larissa Dos Santos Lima wrote, “Praying for your family.”  Paola Mayfield posted, “I am so sorry you are going going through something like this, sending you all the positive thoughts for him, for you, and your family.” Darcey and Stacey star Darcey Silva wrote, “I’m so sorry! My family and I send our love and support to your son and you and your family.  We will be praying for him and you all. Our thoughts are with you!”
