Jenna Lyons is one of the most popular members of the Real Housewives of New York City cast. The reboot was amazing, and Jenna was one of the stand-outs. She came into the show with name recognition thanks to her former position as president of J. Crew.
This trailblazing fashion icon wore jeans to the Season 14 reunion. Even Andy Cohen was hopeful that Jenna would sign on for next season. She sometimes didn’t seem like she loved the process of being on television.
But Ubah Hassan dropped a bomb at the RHONY reunion. “I think we should focus on why you guys didn’t want Jenna on the show,” the model stated. Ubah’s cast members look confused by her remark.
Did the rest of the RHONY cast object to Jenna Lyons joining the show?
According to The Daily Dish, some of the ladies discussed Jenna before filming started. Sai De Silva, Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank, and Ubah met up at Erin’s house. “Before we met Jenna, us three, I believe, said, ‘Oh, I don’t think she’s going to fit into the group,’” Sai explained.
“Which, I stood by that at that time. I didn’t think you were going to fit into the group. I thought you were a wild card — you are a wild card — everybody said it,” she added. Jessel shared that the group just formed an opinion about Jenna before meeting her.
Erin said, “Yeah, because you’re like a professional, normal person, and we’re all nuts.” Ubah also apologized. She stated that she “shouldn’t have said that.”
Of course, Andy asked Jenna how she felt about Sai’s explanation. “It goes back to people making assumptions about you before they know you. And that is so hard because it’s so hard to combat them because you’re starting from behind, as opposed to walking into a situation like on an even playing field,” Jenna replied. “And so, yeah, I felt it.”
Now that the Season 14 reunion is over, fans will be anxiously waiting to find out who will be returning next season. Fingers crossed that Jenna is on the list.
