Sometimes, Vanderpump Rules fans seem more like French revolutionaries with the way they want to guillotine Tom Sandoval and his supporters. The hate against Tom, while not entirely unwarranted, puts every other VPR cast member in a precarious position.
After what Tom did to Ariana Madix, every Bravolebrity has to tread lightly in their relationship with Sandoval. Stars have to make sure they talk about him correctly. If positioned to interact with him, they must do so with the attention and consideration of a larger audience. Lala Kent knows this all too well.
Lala was blasted online earlier this year when a picture from the set of Season 11 showed her and Tom apparently hugging it out. She said there was more context that the audience would later receive, but it didn’t help her case much. Things got even worse at BravoCon 2023.
Lala has to “remind” Ariana of her intentions
At this year’s convention, Lala went to bat for Sandoval. The audience was booing him relentlessly during the Pump Rules panel, and Lala stood up and told them to quiet down. She told them to ease up on him, considering the fact he was brave enough to continue showing his face in public and be on the panel.
During an Amazon Live show, Lala addressed the moment in retrospect, pondering on what Ariana might’ve felt. “I think, in the moment after I said that, she was probably annoyed with me,” Lala explained. “But I have really great conversations with Ariana. This season is going to look very different. And I think everyone is very raw and confused.”
Once Again, Lala assured everyone greater context would come with Season 11’s release. She added, “I know that Ariana knows me and sometimes I have to remind her that, ‘Even though I say these things, it doesn’t mean I’m going to invite him to Christmas dinner … Like, you are my friend. I will always be honest with you and I will always support you.’”
