Biggest Pick-Me Girls In the Vanderpump Rules Cast

The ladies of Vanderpump Rules have always been enveloped in the drama. Whether it was crying over a birthday bash gone wrong, whining about Jax Taylor‘s cheating ways, or pining for James Kennedy, each woman had a specific way of giving off the “Pick-Me Girl” vibe that most viewers found suspect.

Urban Dictionary defines the trait as “a girl who seeks male validation by indirectly or directly insinuating that she is ‘not like the other girls.'” Some characteristics include women letting men walk all over them or attempting to act like “one of the guys.” God knows we all know someone like that in our real lives, and honestly, they can be so irritating! It’s particularly frustrating because a pick-me girl measures their self worth based on male approval.

Your value shouldn’t be dictated by what others think of you, so it’s disappointing when the VPR women devalue themselves that way. But who is the biggest pick-me girl in the Vanderpump Rules cast? Let’s take a look.

Scheana Shay

In the smallest of ways, Scheana Shay also had her pick-me girl moments. During the earlier seasons, she was very much on the outside when it came to the ladies in the Vanderpump Rules cast. As a result, she bonded with Tom Sandoval in order to be included.

Scheana often tried to act unbothered by her male co-stars and came across as a pick-me girl many times. Some great examples are her lack of reaction when a guy grabbed Charli Burnett‘s butt, lying for Jax in Hawaii, and her comment about how she’d rather be “gangbanged” than be stuck in a car with Kristen Doute and Katie Maloney

Lala Kent

At times, Lala Kent didn’t come across as a girl’s girl. Even though my opinion of her has changed, earlier seasons showed her giving off some really crazy vibes. During Season 6, Lala tried her best to get the rest of the girls to act like “bad bitches”—whatever that actually meant. But she would often double down and tell the other women to get over their issues with her, effectively gaslighting them.

Lala also loved to be nude, which often felt like a tactic to garner more attention from the men and piss off the ladies of SUR. Lala loved to skinny dip while in Hawaii and Big Bear, flaunting her perfect figure. Obviously, the men snuck a peek. But over the years, Lala has mellowed, which makes me think she has given up her sugar baby ways.

Ariana Madix

Forgetting Ariana Madix‘s try-too-hard attitude as of late, the Single AF Cocktail author had her pick-me girl moments that some fans may have tried to forget. When Tom Schwartz asked her to be his groomsman, it solidified Ariana’s “I’m not like other girls” mentality. Seeing her walking down the aisle in a suit and attending the bachelor party made it all the more obvious that Ariana is seeking acceptance from men. It didn’t help that Ariana claimed it was better to be a groomsman because bridesmaids suck. Truly, it was one of the most insufferable moments in the series.

Ariana had a few other moments. Her argument with Lala over James and Rachel Leviss‘ engagement party pops into mind. Ariana mimicked Lala and then proceeded to shout, “Oh babe, I was born f*cking cool. Everybody f*cking knows it.” Everybody also knows you are one of the biggest pick-me girls in the Vanderpump Rules cast, but I digress.

Rachel Leviss

Having Rachel Leviss on the list pretty much goes without saying. Not only was she the number one villain, but she was also the number one pick-me girl thanks to her affair with Sandoval. Rachel ignored the girl code and allowed herself to be played like a simpleton in order to be given self-gratification by Tom. Rachel was a perfect example of a girl who feels like she is “one of the guys,” notably crashing guy’s nights during Season 10.

She couldn’t get along with the women on the show because she always made herself the victim. Watching Rachel tell the VPR guys that the ladies were always leaving her out was extremely irritating. She conveniently forgot that she often broke plans or talked about the girls behind their backs.

Rachel’s pick-me girl attitude led to her downfall, so hopefully she’s learned from her mistakes—though fans have their doubts. Now she has a podcast that no one will probably listen to because who wants to keep bashing their head against a wooden door? Not I.
