Rachel Leviss ‘Almost Pulled the Plug’ on Podcast 24 Hours Before Its Release

In a world where almost everyone has a podcast, Rachel Leviss decided that she wasn’t about to miss out on the action. Regardless of the future content of her newly released podcast, Rachel does have something to say about the scandal that rocked Vanderpump Rules last season.

By now, we all know that Rachel and castmate Tom Sandoval spent over seven months deceiving Ariana Madix and the rest of the cast while they had an affair. Rachel was skewered everywhere and many assumed that now she had the power to come back to VPR with a fatter paycheck.

Instead, Rachel surprised many fans by NOT returning to the show and announcing that she was starting a podcast. Naturally, she wanted to tell her side of the story, on her own terms. But according to Rachel, nerves almost got the best of her.

Rachel Leviss on new podcast: “I’m really scared”

On the first episode of Rachel Goes Rogue, Rachel shared how she almost bailed on the whole thing. “Yesterday, I almost pulled the plug on this whole operation just because I’m really scared,” she stated.

Rachel continued, “I’m really nervous. I feel like it’s a lot of responsibility for me to put out a podcast every single week while Vanderpump Rules Season 11 is airing every single week. I have a plan with my therapist to process what we watched on Monday’s episode for Tuesday, and then I have the remaining days to come up with what I’m talking about on my podcast.”

It’s not all about Tom

Despite Scandoval likely being front and center in VPR’s upcoming season, Rachel made sure to note that her pod isn’t going to revolve around it. She told listeners, “I don’t want my podcast to be a response necessarily to what they’re putting out there for Season 11. Ultimately I’m not a part of it. I removed myself from that situation for a reason. My intention is to share my truth.”

Even with the downfalls of staying in the public eye, Rachel is pressing on, with reservations.

I’m very hesitant to come back to the entertainment industry,” the former server revealed.

“There’s another world where I closed the door on the entertainment industry completely and go live my life in nature and do my yoga and Pilates and really focus on my therapy and mental health, but I also feel like there’s a world where I can speak my truth, and I can get my story out there, and I can also be doing my therapy and Pilates and focusing on my mental health. That’s just where my priority lies,” Rachel concluded.

Episode 1 of Rachel Goes Rogue is available now. Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules premieres January 30 at 8/7c on Bravo.
