The Bey Hive can rest easy. It’s a fact that Beyoncé is pop culture and her influence is far and wide. So much so that Lala Kent delayed announcing the name of her second child because of the Queen.
The Vanderpump Rules star just announced via Instagram that baby number two was born on September 3rd. But Lala held off on any more specifics, which she explained on a recent episode of her podcast.
Lala Kent’s secret
The episode of Give Them Lala was released just a day after she had given birth and is noted that it was recorded before welcoming her new baby. The now mother-of-two discussed her decision to keep her baby’s name quiet for now.
Lala stated plainly, “Today is Beyoncé’s birthday. September 4th is her day. We can’t announce today.”
She went on to say, “No one’s gonna give a s–t. It’s Beyoncé’s birthday! I’m gonna wait. Baby S gets her moment.”
After a tumultuous breakup with daughter Ocean’s father, Randall Emmett, Lala was candid about pursuing other methods to expand her family. In the latest season of VPR, she picked out a sperm donor and detailed her pregnancy.
“This is a monumental moment in my life. We are picking my future child, who is going to be a part of my life until I die. I want to take this science jargon out of it a little bit,” she said in one episode. “I am trying to figure out little ways where I can look at this baby and go, ‘You were brought here out of so much love.’ It may look different but love is love.”
The warm and fuzzy vibe Lala reserves for her kids is a stark contrast to what she has been saying about VPR since the cameras stopped rolling.
After a rocky reunion and a fallout with multiple castmates, Lala seemed as though she was rethinking her time on Pump Rules.
Back in June, she explained, “I feel like I’m in such a strange space. I don’t feel like I fit into Vanderpump Rules. I’m kind of in this weird zone.”
Vanderpump Rules is streaming on Peacock.
