When Lala Kent said she was “expanding her pod” and having a second child, Vanderpump Rules fans immediately started guessing what she’d name her second child. Since her first kid’s name is Ocean Kent, we all expected to see some type of nautical name in the mix.
Well, Lala just announced the name of her child, and we can guarantee that it’s not something anybody would have guessed.
Lala Kent’s unique name for baby number two
In an Instagram post, Lala introduced fans to a glimpse of her new baby daughter. Along with it, came the big reveal of her name, and as promised, it starts with an “S.” Everybody, meet Sosa Kent!
At first glance, you might think that Lala named her baby in an ode to the rapper Chief Keef. Apparently, that’s not the case. Still, we expect Lala will be playing “Love Sosa” on repeat during this baby’s formative years.
Although Lala didn’t dive into specifics of why she chose the name Sosa, a quick Google search explains it all. According to Babynames.com, the name Sosa is “primarily a gender-neutral name of Portuguese origin that means Salt Water.” So, in a roundabout way, it’s kind of on theme with Ocean.
Underneath the big announcement, a handful of Lala’s Pump Rules costars left words of support, including Scheana Shay. Even Vicki Gunvalson from Real Housewives of Orange County popped into the comments and wrote, “Congratulations honey.” She’s probably also already in Lala’s DMs talking about life insurance for Sosa.
Sosa officially came into the world on September 3, which Lala also shared via an Instagram announcement. Throughout the journey, she was brutally honest about her experience with intrauterine insemination (IUI) and her decision to expand her family as a solo parent. Now, all of the hard work has paid off, and little Sosa is here! Cheers to that.
