Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Gretchen Rossi hasn’t been on the show full-time since 2013. How can we ever forget that
cringe-worthy amazing episode when Gretchen popped the question to Slade Smiley, and he said “Yes!”
On July 10, Gretchen and her man finally welcomed their daughter, Skylar Gray. The couple had struggled with infertility for years before becoming pregnant.
The entire Bravosphere was shocked by Vicki Gunvalson‘s demotion to Friend of the Housewives for Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Orange County — former frenemy Gretchen Rossi included.
In a new interview, the former RHOC star opened up about her reaction to the OC of the OG getting her orange snatched.
There is a complicated history between Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge and alum Gretchen Rossi. Let’s remember back to a dinner party during Gretchen’s first season. It was at Tamra’s house, and Tamra planned to get an engaged Gretchen “naked wasted.” Mission accomplished. It was weird watching Gretchen flirt with Tamra’s son and then bellow “TAMRAAA!”
Gretchen and her fiancé of 6 years, serial Housewife dater, Slade Smiley, welcomed their daughter Skylar Gray on July 10. The couple had battled infertility for a long time.
I wonder what was most shocking to Vicki Gunvalson: finding out Brooks Ayers didn’t have cancer or getting the news that she got demoted to a part-time Housewife. Sadly, my instincts tell me that it was probably the latter. Vicki still isn’t over the humiliation of her demotion. And she’s talking about it with anyone who will listen.
During a recent Watch What Happens Live episode, a fan called in to ask, “If you could bring back any other OG Housewife, besides yourself, who would you choose and why?” I love how he had to emphasize “besides yourself” when he asked that question. We all know Vicki’s genuine answer to that question.
Real Housewives of Orange County is starting to turn into a crime scene. Not a crime against fashion, although that is possible. This is more of a crime to stay significant. And the accusations are flying with a capital F You. Tamra Judge has been leading the way this season, but only because Vicki Gunvalson is now on the passenger’s side of the fun bus.
Vicki and Tamra have a sordid history between them. Tamra gained fame for over-serving a freshman Gretchen Rossi at a party. Then Tamra proceeded to watch drunk Gretchen dry hump her adult son’s leg. TAMRAAAH! evolved into, Ugh, Tamra… after that display. Oh and then there’s the angel Vicki. I fondly recall when Vicki “stood by her man” and alienated her family and co-stars as she defended her beloved who deceived literally everyone. About having cancer. Now, these two beacons of morality have decided to label someone as a liar.
We are three episodes in to the Real Housewives of Orange County and the drama is already ramping up. On last week’s show, we watched demoted Vicki Gunvalson chasing Kelly Dodd around Tamra Judge’s house to try to talk out their differences. Or, more likely, to get extra screen time to try to regain her orange.
So far, the season looks to be more promising than the last few. I am liking newbie Braunwyn Windham-Burke, who seems interesting and grounded. We’ll see how long that lasts! Veteran Tamra’s storyline so far has been her new home–and shamelessly planting some seeds for future conflict between her sons Ryan Vieth and Spencer Barney. Of course, Tamra is all about pot-stirring–and creating drama by voicing her opinions on everything. Fortunately–or unfortunately–for viewers, Tamra is willing to do this both on and off the show.
Real Housewives of Orange County alum Gretchen Rossi has always attracted controversy. Gretchen was engaged to a much-older man, Jeff Beitzel, when she first joined the cast. After Jeff’s death, Gretchen started a relationship with serial Housewife-dater Slade Smiley during Season 5. None of her fellow RHOC co-stars were supportive of the match. If Gretchen hadn’t scored him, Slade was in danger of running out of Housewives to
financially support him date.
When Gretchen proposed to Slade with the Bravo cameras rolling, it was both a cringe-worthy over-the-top stunt, and a desperate bid for Gretchen to keep her Housewife position. Gretchen had her man flown in by helicopter to the top of AT&T building, where Gretchen popped the question. If Slade had proposed, Gretchen would probably have been presented with a single rose and a candy ring pop.
I feel like I stayed longer at Real Housewives of New York cast events than Ramona Singer did this past season. She always left early to go on a date. Is it in the cast contracts to stay at events for a minimal amount of time? It really seemed like Ramona stayed as long as she “had” to before peacing out immediately.
Weirdly, most of her dates aren’t even filmed, yet we always hear about how she’s going on so many. Sometimes, I think she just says she’s going on dates so she can sneak back home to hang out with her dog CoCo. She only has one year left to live, you guys. Or at least that’s what Ramona has been saying…based on nothing at all, which (weirdly) makes me laugh every time she mentions it.
