Two weeks after RadarOnline first broke the news, Bravo has now confirmed the Real Housewives of DC has been canceled, making this the first time ever the network has canceled a housewives franchise.
“We had an amazing season and we told stories that were unique to any other in the franchise,” Bravo’s Andy Cohen told the Washington Post on Thursday. “I wish all our DC Wives the best and hope to work with them again in another capacity.”
Below are some reactions from the DC Housewives -
Stacie Turner – “The past 18 months has truly been an amazing adventure! Thanks so much for your support. The best is yet to come…….” she tweeted.
Mary Amons – “Bittersweet day, memorable fun ride w/ @catommanney @THErealLyndaDC @stacieturnerdc & the Bravo family! Exciting projects ahead! #staytuned,” tweeted Mary.
Cat Ommaney – “So the milk was spilt, and we cried over it..(meow meow) and then the next show..mmm well thats going to be ‘creme de la creme’!!..” tweeted Cat.
As for Michaele Salahi, she promises her next project will be “wild and entertaining,” perhaps referring to her upcoming appearance on Celebrity Rehab.
While the DC Housewives averaged decent ratings, 1.4 million viewers, it didn’t quite compare to its counterparts, for example the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills which averaged over 2 million viewers for its freshman season. It seems the final straw for Bravo was the report that the DC Housewives had banded together and refused to do the show if the controversial Michaele was allowed back on by the network which wanted her to return.
Michaele also spoke to PEOPLE, confirming that her castmates did indeed want her off the show. “I sort of knew this was going to happen,” Michaele tells PEOPLE. “The other women didn’t want me back on the show, and [Bravo executive] Andy [Cohen] stood his ground and said there wouldn’t be a show without me on it. I’m grateful to him for that.”
This cancellation of the DC housewives could also spell trouble for the Real Housewives of Miami, which averaged a poor 1.1 million viewers this season.
TELL US – THOUGHTS ON BRAVO CANCELING THE DC HOUSEWIVES?
Following the airing of the first season, which was met with controversy and so-so ratings, the big question has remained will the Real Housewives of DC be returning for a second season?
Well, that answer is now a strong maybe according to Bravo’s ownAndy Cohen. The Crushable website reports that during Andy’s recent appearance on the Live With Regis & Kelly show a little over a week ago, he revealed that Bravo would like the DC Housewives to come back for a second season but under one condition – that is with Michaele Salahi returning to the show. Wowzers!
According to Crushable, Andy admitted Bravo was “in negotiations” to bring back Real Housewives of DC but added that while the network wants Michaele back on the show, the other four housewives do not. In fact, they have reportedly banded together and refused to work with her.
It appears, the question now is does Bravo think the Real Housewives of DC is worth watching without the party crashing and compulsive lying of the Salahis? We can’t help but wonder if the DC Housewives will end up being another Real Housewives of Miami without the Salahis.
Meanwhile, Stacie’s husband Jason Turner recently commented on a previous story we did about Stacie traveling to Nigeria to meet her birth father and family.
In the story, we questioned whether the camera crew pictured with Stacie was from Bravo, and according to Jason, it was not. In the comment, made just two weeks ago, Jason also voiced uncertainty regarding a second season of the show. Part of Jason’s comment below -
“Contrary to popular opinion, we photographed and filmed this trip entirely on our own, since we feel like our (Stacie’s) family story couldn’t be “owned” by anyone but Stacie. So we partnered with Silverbird Group, one of the largest media companies in Africa, who provided a full film crew that chronicled over 30 hours of high def footage as we visited Lagos, Abuja, the Nigerian capital, as well as Owerri, which is in the southeast part of the country, where we met her birth family. As I write this, we don’t know what the future holds as far as a Season 2, but HW or not, we look forward to sharing what is an emotional, beautiful, provocative, intriguing, and super surprising story of one person’s search to discover something deeper about themselves.”

TELL US – DO YOU WANT TO SEE ANOTHER SEASON OF THE DC HOUSEWIVES? WILL THE SHOW BE WORTH WATCHING WITHOUT THE SALAHIS?
According to Bravo’s Executive Vice President of Original Programming and Development aka Andy Cohen, the Real Housewives of Miami is the end of additional cities to the successful reality series.
When asked about which city he would look to next to find more housewives by OK! magazine, Andy replied, “I really feel like we’re done.” When further pressed on if Miami is the last stop on the Housewives spinoffs? Andy answered, “Yeah.”
And when it comes to other housewives getting their own Bravo spinoff shows a la Bethenny Frankel, Andy reveals that is very unlikely. “I think they’re all good where they are,” he stated.
This comes as no surprise following the lackluster ratings and reviews of the Miami franchise. The show has averaged a dismal 1.18 million viewers over the first 3 episodes.
While ending the addition of new franchises might be best, we are a little disappointed we will never get to see a Real Housewives of Dallas. That would have been all kinds of awesomeness no?

Power stylist and Bravo reality starRachel Zoe, who is 9 months pregnant and due this month, opens up about a number of things in her latest interview with the Hollywood Reporter.
Rachel, 39, star ofThe Rachel Zoe Project, who has dressed everyone from Anne Hathaway to Cameron Diaz, discusses her extraordinary rise from stylist to the stars to becoming a brand name. “I’m not sure that most people can name another stylist,” says Rodger Berman, her husband of 13 years and the president of Rachel Zoe Inc. since July.
Rachel’s Budding Empire – The Rachel Zoe Inc company employs 14 full-time staffers who manage The Zoe Report, her daily digital newsletter with a readership of 250,000; the Rachel Zoe Collection, a contemporary line launching in the fall with licensing partner Li & Fung at such stores as Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman (prices range from $250-$700); and The Rachel Zoe Project, her Bravo reality show that drew 1.1 million viewers to its Season 3 finale (up 31 percent from the previous year; the show is due to return in the fall).
Humble Beginnings – Rachel has come a long way since her first job as a fashion assistant in New York at the now-defunct YM magazine (her salary: $18,000). She went freelance at 25 and began styling for the likes of Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys from a one-bedroom West Village apartment. “I worked 20-something hours a day, seven days a week,” says Rachel. “I was completely obsessed with fashion and spent all my money flying to Paris to go to couture because that was the dream. I crashed shows, stood in line for Marc Jacobs. Designers were my heroes and my celebrities. It hasn’t really worn off.”
Rachel’s Growing Fortune – Today, she now earns up to $10,000 per styling job, along with an estimated $50,000 an episode for her Bravo reality show. Revenue from her product lines and add her styling earnings, and Zoe is easily clearing seven figures, but Rodger says he’s only recently felt like he can breathe a little easier. “Last year was the first time when I felt like, ‘OK, we’re not gonna go bankrupt.’ But, ‘Mo’ money, mo’ problems.’ To my wife, it just means she can spend more.”
Rachel On Fame – “I never wanted to be famous,” says Rachel, who grew up in Short Hills, N.J. “A stylist is a behind-the-scenes job,” she says. “I’m never a star when I’m with a star — ever. Back then, I was very insecure about that. Even now, if you watch me on a red carpet, I’m physically uncomfortable. I can’t strike a good pose to save my life. Fortunately and unfortunately, it’s a part of brand-building. It’s just part of my job.” “Rachel is an expert in her field, at the top of her game, and she’s addictive to watch,” Andy Cohen says. “The other star of The Rachel Zoe Project is the fashion,” he adds. “But as you go deeper into any reality show, more colors of the rainbow start to come out.” Like her slang, which includes the stupefied “I die” and the exultant “Ah-mazing.” Says Cohen, “The Zoe-isms are bananas.”
Following a public backlash for the second year in a row due to her behavior both on and off the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Nene is now admitting the negative press can be “hurtful” at times.
During a recent interview with Zap2It, Nene was asked how she feels about all the bad press surrounding her. “Some of the press is hurtful, because I’m a human like anybody else,” said the Nene. “So, some of it is hurtful. And some of it, when I know it’s a flat out lie, I’m like whatever, it doesn’t really matter. But, some of the press is hurtful and I do read some of it, sometimes.”
Nene goes on to add that she has learned a lot about herself since doing the show. What has she learned you ask? Well, mostly that other people are very judgmental and that she’s a really strong woman.
“Being on the show, I’ve learned that people are very judgmental, very, very judgmental,” she says. “And I’ve learned also that I have very thick skin. I’ve learned that I’m a really strong woman. I have really gone through some things and really come out on top. So, I am a strong woman. At the end of the day, when I go home I sleep very well.” Poor Nene, always the victim.
In other Nene news, the NYDailyNews is reporting that Nene might be getting the boot from the Real Housewives of Atlanta. The reason? Apparently, both Bravo andAndy Cohen have had it up to here with her “extra-grande ego.”
An insider reveals that Andy’s relationship with the Nene has become strained due to her “disrespectful” and “arrogant behavior.” Another issue is Nene’s overly aggressive behavior toward costar Kim Zolciak, as Kim had to file a police report two years ago after she alleged Nene choked her during an argument.
“She’s alienated all of the women other than Cynthia [Bailey],” the source adds. “So, as of now, the plan is to “phase” Leakes out within the first two to three episodes of season four, which begins in October.”

This follows the previous snafu that occurred last month during which Bravo decided to postpone the show 2 weeks before it’s scheduled Feb. 15th premiere in favor of the lacklusterReal Housewives of Miami.
The NYC Housewives have all teased that Bravo postponed the season due to too much drama and needing more time to edit the show, which was still filming two weeks before it was meant to debut. And judging from the trailer below, they might have been right.
Bravo promises “the new season will definitely be worth the wait.”
The new season trailer is below -

The ceremony took place Friday afternoon at the Longacre Theater in New York City, where Kelsey recently starred in the Tony-winning revival of the musical La Cage aux Folles.
“Kelsey Grammer and Kayte Walsh were married today at a private ceremony for family and friends,” his rep said in a statement yesterday. The guests at the wedding included Kelsey’s grown daughter, actress Spencer Grammer, who read a poem, Kayte’s brother, who sang a song, and Kelsey’s 5-year-old son Jude (son with Camille). Kelsey and Camille’s daughter Mason, 8, reportedly didn’t attend the bash due to a talent show.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests headed to the reception at the Plaza Hotel where they dined on a four-course dinner menu which accommodated the vegetarian bride and also included king oyster mushroom carpaccio, wild mushroom risotto, grilled filet mignon with blue potato gratin and bittersweet chocolate tart. The price? A mere $400 a plate. Wedding photos of Kelsey and Kate below.
It’s “bittersweet,” said Camille. “Kelsey and I spent 14 years together and built a great life for ourselves. We have two children, and they mean the world to me.”
“I do wish him well and I’ll miss him,” Camille added. “We spent many great years together and we’ve been through a lot. But at the end of the day, he’s made his decision and I’ll be fine. I’ve got a great support group, real and true friends and I’m moving forward with my life. I was sad and wanted to make things work but I’m completely fine now. I’m moving on.”
For starters, controversial housewife Danielle Staub will not be returning, and that is a-okay with Caroline Manzo, who threatened to leave the show if Bravo allowed Danielle to come back.
The HollywoodLife caught up with bothAndy Cohenand Caroline this week and they both seem to agree on one thing. “Without Danielle, it’ll be great!” Andy said.
“People worry that the show won’t be what it was. I’m glad it’s not what it was,” Caroline stated. “Now, it’s drama that’s memorable.” Caroline also confirms there will be some new housewives this season, reportedly Melissa Gorga (Teresa Giudice’s sister-in-law) and Kathy Wakile (Teresa’s first cousin).
“There’s a couple of new faces,” Caroline reveals. “It’s a very different dynamic this year. It’s a lot of fun.”
And despite reports that the third season finished filming last December, Andy states that “Jersey is filming right now,” adding that “it’s going really well.”
“It’s the best it ever was,” Caroline finalizes. And in a separate interview with E! Online, Caroline reveals that she doesn’t miss her sister Dina Manzo on the show because she gets to see Dina in real life, while also hinting at some drama with Teresa according to E!.
“Oh Teresa! You’re gonna have to watch and see, there’s a tremendous dynamic going on,” Caroline said. “My beautiful daughter and sons are doing great, they’re loves lives come into play. Interesting things go on this year.”
Bravo has yet to officially announce the premiere date for season 3 but all signs point to sometime in May.
As for Danielle, who is rumored to be working on a spinoff reality show about her personal life, her new show called ‘Social’ premiered on Wealth TV days ago and according to our reader ZOSO666, the show is a train wreck. “It is awful. I want my 1/2 hour back but I had to watch it. She is like the white trash version of Robin Leach. I don’t suspect it should last too long,” added Zoso. Ouch!
