Gina Kirschenheiter Describes Split From Husband As “Death By A Thousand Paper Cuts”

At this point, the Real Housewives of Orange County viewers don’t really “know” Gina Kirschenheiter other than her very unconventional marriage where her husband Matt Kirschenheiter lives in another city in an apartment she had never seen. That really wasn’t boding well for their marriage and in real life, the fans know the two aren’t together anymore.

Even though they are not together anymore, it really isn’t make a huge difference to the fans since we never saw Matt on the show anyway. Now Gina is discussing her time as the new Orange County Housewife with Andy Cohen during her first appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

Andy said to Gina, “The two of you have split up.” Gina (confusingly) responded with “Yes, but we haven’t split up.” She added, “We’ll never be split up.” Ummm. What?

Kelly Dodd Weighs In On Drama Between Gina Kirschenheiter & Emily Simpson’s Husband Shane

Andy pointed out, “But you filed for divorce.” Gina told Andy, “I did, but we will always be family. There will never be a divide between Matt and I. He’s the father of my children.” That was never the question. The man just wanted to know if you two were still romantically linked. Maybe she was just nervous for her first Watch What Happens Live appearance.

Andy asked, “Is there any one thing that happened?” Gina confessed, “It’s like death by a thousand paper cuts honestly. It’s what happens. We got married very young . We just…. We just don’t have that connection.”

Andy wondered, “Did you ever think there was another woman involved?” Gina admitted, “No.”

Then they discussed the drama during the last episode when Kelly Dodd yelled at Emily Simpson’s husband Shane Simpson and called him a “little bitch.” A caller asked Gina, “If you had been in Emily’s shoes, would you have handled the situation differently? If so, how?”

Gina said, “I would like to think that I would have.” she followed up with, “I think she was just overwhelmed because there was a lot going on.” She added, “Kelly was being very aggressive.” Yeah, but this season needed that. Thank you, Kelly.

Andy asked Gina, “Did you watch before you joined the show?” Unlike some new Housewives who don’t watch the show or just lie about being secret fans, Gina did not hesitate to say, “Yes.” She also admitted that being a Real Housewife is “so surreal. It’s bizarre. It’s so exciting.”
