Cameran Eubanks Wants A Real Housewives Show In South Carolina

Can you believe it was the finale of Southern Charm this week? I always think the the show goes by too quickly. Not a lot has happened this season, but you can’t have high drama all the time. You would never appreciate the really good stuff when it happens!

The Charmers often save their biggest drama for off camera–like the custody battle of Kathryn Dennis and Thomas Ravenel. Plus, the social media gaffes and embarrassing escapades of Shep Rose. You have to wonder–where is all the on-screen juicy drama in South Carolina? Southern Charm cast member Cameran Eubanks must think that there is plenty of drama in the state, as she shared that South Carolina might be the perfect place for another Bravo franchise known for high histrionics.

Bravo’s The Daily Dish reported that Cameran recently teased a new show concept on Instagram. In her post, she said, “I want to be the next casting director for a South Carolina housewives (if @bravoandy would let me.)” Cameran shared a photo of herself standing next to t-shirt on a mannequin that reads, “The Real Housewives of Summerville.” Summerville is a city about 25 miles from Charleston.

Would such a show work? I am always up for new Housewife shows, but have to confess that I would rather have Bravo tweak its current roster of Housewife shows before expanding to new cities. Of course, the South is already well-represented by The Real Housewives of Atlanta and The Real Housewives of Dallas.

Cameran seems to believe that she has the skills to be an official Housewife casting scout. She concluded her post with the hashtags, “Next Career Move” and “I Could Really Pick Em.”

Could Cameran really “pick em” as she claims? I am not 100% convinced. Cameran has been stealth in her ability to expose as little of her personal life as possible on Southern Charm. She might actually hold a Bravo record for this magical skill. Who else has been on a Bravo show for so long with revealing so little? Does drama-avoidant Cameran even know dramatic potential in someone when she sees it?

Of course, Cameran’s pitch is probably tongue-in-cheek, but you never know what show Bravo might be doing next. Charleston would be the most likely setting for a South Carolina Housewife show and I admit I would love seeing more of the city’s beautiful scenery. But the Real Housewives of South Carolina? I am not really sold.

It might be better for Bravo to offer up shows starring some of the existing Southern Charm cast. I would be game for watching a limited run series like, “Shady Southern Gossip” with shady gossip Austen Kroll. Maybe “Cocktails on the Veranda” starring Patricia Altschul?  Or “Women of Charleston Who Have Slept with Shep.” I am not sure Bravo has the casting budget for that one!

Bravo’s The Daily Dish stated that “no plans to cast for The Real Housewives are in the works for South Carolina.” If the show does come about someday, we will have Cameran to thank–or curse!
