Another day, another Housewives financial drama. Returning Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore’s husband, Marc Daly, apparently owes some back taxes. Seriously–is having financial woes a prerequisite to join a Housewives franchise?
While he may be allergic to reality television cameras, Marc must be thrilled that his wife has once again secured that coveted peach (and that RHOA paycheck.) So, what is going on with this outstanding tax bill?
According to RadarOnline, Marc was slapped with a federal tax lien totaling $111,205 by the New York City Department of Finance. The lien was imposed on May 23, 2019. It still hadn’t been paid as of August 29.
RadarOnline also reported that Kenya took a big pay cut to return to RHOA. Kenya was fired after Season 10 for keeping her marriage details private (gasp) and refusing to have her new husband appear on the series. Kenya originally earned $1.5 million per season but is only being paid $500,000 for Season 12. Ouch! That hurts–right in the wallet.
It seemed that Kenya was only returning as a Friend of the Housewives. However, Kenya posted a photo of herself holding a peach, which looks like it is from the RHOA opening credits photo shoot. Oh, NeNe Leakes must be thrilled that Kenya has twirled her way back on the show.
But don’t worry about Marc’s financial burdens everyone—this whole tax thing is just a silly mistake. The following message was posted on August 30 to Marc’s restaurant’s Instagram.
“There was some unfortunate reporting today which was published before we had a chance to correct the record. The full story is there had been a $100,000 tax assessment based on incorrect information. We diligently addressed the issues through our accountants who advised that a good portion of the matter is already resolved, a full resolution will come soon, and instead of having a liability Mr. Daly will actually be receiving a refund. Thank you all for your concern. Misinformation travels so fast! Mr. Daly will have no further comment on this matter. Avram Solomon Turkel, Esq.”
Kenya and Marc welcomed their daughter, Brooklyn Doris, on November 4, 2018. Kenya suffered from preeclampsia, which is a dangerous pregnancy complication, Brooklyn had to be delivered early.
I am sure that Kenya will stay mum about any financial issues, but I wonder if Marc will grace our television screens now that his wife is filming RHOA again? It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
TELL US- ARE YOU SURPRISED ABOUT MARC’S ALLEGED TAX DEBT? DO YOU THINK THAT IT IS REALLY A MISTAKE? ARE YOU HAPPY THAT KENYA IS BACK ON RHOA?
