Carole Radziwill Says Tinsley Mortimer Getting Engaged “Was So Unexpected”

Who would have thought that Carole Radiziwill setting Tinsley Mortimer up for an on-camera date for a storyline Real Housewives of New York would result in an engagement? Of course, the story isn’t that simple.

Tinsley and Scott Kluth broke up more times than I can count. They struggled to maintain a long-distance relationship with Scott living in Chicago while Tinsley films RHONY in the Big Apple. Tinsley spent seasons talking about how she wants to get engaged and have a baby and now she finally has that rock. I’m sure her mother Dale Mercer is thrilled, but what does Carole Radiziwill think about the engagement?

The last time Real Housewives of New York viewers saw Carole and Tinsley on the show together, Carole adamantly denied claims that she was “close friends” with Tinsley during the Season 10 reunion as if it was some sort of insult to be close with Tinsley. As a complete stranger, who’s just friends with these people in my mind, that was pretty shocking to see.

Carole seemingly ditched Bethenny Frankel for Tinsley. Carole and Tinsley got along all season and seemed to form a tight bond, but Carole (weirdly) wouldn’t admit that. We don’t know why that is since Carole “quit” the show soon after, but strangely enough, Tinsley ended up getting close with Bethenny the following season. Oh, the irony.

It’s unclear if Carole is still in touch with Tinsley. In 2018, Carole said she was only in touch with one Real Housewives of New York cast member, Ramona Singer of all people. How random. However, she did post a photo with Dorinda Medley a couple days ago. With that said, it doesn’t seem like Carole and Tinsley are “close” these days… especially since she said no one from the show wanted to film with Tinsley. Ouch.

In an interview with HollywoodLife, Carole discussed the engagement. She told the publication, “Oh my God, that was so unexpected.” Was that shady? Was that a sweet remark? I wish I witnessed this discussion because it could really go either way.

Discussing the fact that she set them up and they’re planning to get married, Carole remarked, “Yeah, you’d think that’s good karma.”
