Remy Ma

Remy Ma Reportedly Considered For Real Housewives Of New York City But Was Passed Over Due To Location

If you were hoping to have an update on the history of the Real Housewives of New York it looks like you’ll have to wait even longer. Even though the last cast which consisted of Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, Leah McSweeny, and Eboni K. Williams had the worst season of their 13 years on air, that didn’t make Bravo give them the Real Housewives of Dallas treatment and pull the plug on their show completely. Instead, they were given the Dorina Medley special and has been placed on pause for over a year now.

At some point, Andy Cohen announced that Bravo was planning on doing a complete cast shake-up with RHONY and none of the current ladies would be returning to the beloved series once it did make its return back to the network. When this was announced, it just didn’t sit right among fans of the series. Some of these ladies like Ramona, Luann, and Sonja have graciously shown their lives in front of the world for the past 10-plus years and to wipe them completely from the franchise they put on the map feels wrong.

However, Andy also announced that there would be another component to the RHONY shake-up by creating the addition of another show tentatively titled RHONY: Legacy. This would likely feature the ladies we all know and love like a few of the OGs and potentially anyone who was on the show prior to season 13.

Well now that Bravo is searching for a “diverse” group of friends in NYC for season 14, we’re hearing more and more rumors about some of the ladies who have either been approached by RHONY producers or who have tried to throw their hats in the ring. The latest name we’re hearing: Remy Ma.

Sources are telling TMZ that Eboni mentioned Remy’s name to the casting team several months ago suggesting that Remy would be a great addition to the show.

Reports are also mentioning that casting had a virtual call with Remy and the conversation went well but because her residence is technically located in New Jersey, the conversations ceased. The source shared that Love and Hip Hop reality star used to have an apartment in Manhattan but she doesn’t anymore.

Although the Housewives take place in different cities, we know Bravo and the producers of the shows can be pretty loose regarding geography when they want to be. Most of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills don’t actually live in Beverly Hills and the same goes for the Real Housewives of Potomac. Remember when Karen Huger rented a house in Virginia? And don’t forget Robyn Dixon’s townhome is located in Hanover. Along with most of the other ladies living in surrounding cities as well.

Although Remy won’t be on the newest season of RHONY, I can’t say that I wouldn’t have been interested in this casting choice. Remy goes at it and being from the Bronx, boy, would she have been a great choice for the “refreshed” version of the show.
