NeNe Leakes Addresses Reports That Her Son Brentt Leakes Came Out As Gay

NeNe Leakes has been back in the headlines since co-hosting The Breakfast Club radio show earlier this week. I must admit, I really miss seeing her face on the Bravo network.

After a rocky 12th season and an even more unfortunate falling out, NeNe has not appeared on anything Real Housewives related. Ever since she called Andy Cohen a racist and a drug user. Despite fans calling for her return, and the network knowing NeNe’s value, it seems as if that ship has sailed.

Whenever the RHOA OG does make an appearance on a radio show or a talk show, fans can’t help but tune in. I mean, it’s NeNe Leakes. Love her or hate her–no one can deny this lady’s impact. Ever.

As most viewers will remember, NeNe is the mother of two young men — Brentt Leakes and Bryson Bryant. Her youngest son, Brentt, who we’ve seen featured on the Real Housewives of Atlanta since Season 1, caused quite the stir in the Bravo streets. He seemingly confirmed that he’s part of the LGBTQ+ community in a new TikTok

In the trending video, Brentt shoots what appears to be a balled-up paper towel. He added the caption, “If I miss, I’m gay.” He followed that up by a snap and a heel turn. Page Six reported that NeNe addressed the situation during her Breakfast Club appearance.

Brentt is not gay,” she said. “Not to my knowledge.”

NeNe shared that after receiving calls from friends who were “concerned” about Brentt’s TikTok, she spoke with her 23-year-old son on the phone. He confirmed it was a trending prank he chose to take part in.

NeNe explained, “He called me up and was like, ‘Mom, everybody is asking if I’m gay because I did this TikTok thing. And I said, ‘It’s OK if you are gay. It’s fine with me,” she added.

“And he was like, ‘OK, Mom, I’m not gay.”

NeNe has always been a huge supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. On RHOA, she’s hosted events for “the gays” and has continuously talked about her love and support for them as well.

If her son was gay, NeNe said she didn’t understand “what the big deal” was. “Happiness is the most important thing,” she stated.

NeNe continued, “I don’t need to ask him, ‘Are you gay?’ What I like to say to people is … ‘Whatever makes you happy.’ If my son today says he’s gay, I’m 100 percent OK with it.”
