There have been a lot of memorable moments on Below Deck throughout the years. There was the time Kate Chastain reached the “last straw” with an uncooperative charter guest. Then a moment when Ashton Pienaar went overboard in dramatic fashion. Looking back on his time as the Captain on the show, Lee Rosbach has revealed his favorite memory. It comes after news broke he would not be returning to the series.
Captain Lee appeared on Watch What Happens Live and revealed his best memory was “when I got to see my bride walking down the dock.” He is of course referring to his wife of more than 45 years. Mary Anne Rosbach appeared on Below Deck in Season 5. She paid a visit to her husband and his crew, and at the time Lee couldn’t have been happier. “To have Mary Anne come out and give me just a little bit of a respite from the grind, is really a pleasure,” he said.
While the good captain is waving goodbye to Below Deck, fans can still enjoy watching him. He will be performing a one-man show, which he teased on WWHL. “It’s not gonna be anything like they’re gonna expect walking in,” he promised, adding “It’s gonna be totally different. It’s gonna be a lot of things.” One of those things? “A different side of me,” he said.
I can’t imagine a full season of Below Deck without Captain Lee! He will be sorely missed, but this franchise is one that has been opened wide up since it first started. We’ve had Below Deck Adventure, Below Deck Sailing Yacht, Below Deck Down Under, and Below Deck Mediterranean. Bravo knows what they’re doing with casting (most of the time!), so I’ll reserve judgment on Season 11 until it hits the air.
