Andy Cohen ‘Really Respects’ Rachel Leviss’ Decision To Leave Pump Rules

Former Vanderpump Rules star Rachel Leviss isn’t exactly known for her decision-making skills. Her choice to carry on a seven-month-long affair with co-star Tom Sandoval is obviously the biggest example of that.

With the upcoming season of VPR approaching, the Scandoval drama will continue given that Sandoval and scorned ex Ariana Madix will be filming, but one notable player will be missing: Rachel.

Fans were surprised to learn she wouldn’t be coming back to the show and everyone had a strong opinion on the matter. But Andy Cohen, the executive behind it all, supports Rachel’s decision to leave it all behind.

Andy approves

Andy told Us Weekly, “I think it’s a personal decision. If that was the healthiest move for her, I respect looking at it and saying, ‘This was not something that brought out the best in me so I’m going to choose something else.'”

This sentiment is one that Andy insists is true for all of the shows he produces for Bravo. “I really respect that decision always across all shows,” he stated.

But even with the loss of Rachel and the drama she would be bringing to the show, Andy is confident that Season 11 of Pump Rules will still be worth the watch.

“[I’m] very excited for people to see Vanderpump Rules. Listen, it picks up where we left off. I think seeing the shifting relationships and platelets and growth in some — and stagnation in others — is really going to be interesting for people,” he shared.

Rachel moves on

While the season after Scandoval began filming, Rachel checked into a mental health facility for 90 days. After which she confirmed that she would not be coming back to the show.

In August of this past year, Rachel was adamant that she would not return to VPR. “Oh, hell no. No, because I refuse to not respect myself on that level where I would endure that emotional abuse any longer.”

Now that her time on VPR is done, Rachel has pivoted to the world of podcasting. She announced she was starting her podcast in December and her first episode of Rachel Goes Rogue dropped this week. There, she’ll tell her own story in regards to Scandoval.

Vanderpump Rules returns for Season 11 on January 30 at 8/7c on Bravo.
