Vanderpump Rules alums Katie Maloney and Ariana Madix’s sandwich shop, Something About Her, was incredibly popular from the jump. The ladies had some hiccups along the way while trying to open the eatery. In May 2024, the shop, which was designed to resemble a Nancy Meyers film, finally opened.
However, Ariana and Katie were locked in a legal battle with Chef Penny Davidi. Penny sued the Pump Rules alums for breach of contract. In her lawsuit, Penny claimed that Katie and Ariana did not pay her the salary that was allegedly agreed upon, plus a 10 percent cut of the company itself. On October 2, Chef Penny dismissed the claim.

While Katie and Ariana’s legal woes may be behind them, it seems that their business woes may not be. “Business is down exponentially from last year,” a source told The U.S. Sun. “The restaurant gets about a fraction of the number of people who came last year. It’s hard to say an exact number, but business has taken a huge downward turn.” The insider added, “It’s so much slower, and there hasn’t been a need to staff as many people.”
The sandwich shop is located on West Hollywood’s bustling Robertson Boulevard. “So many of the restaurants in this area are closing, and staffers are afraid SAH will be next,” the insider alleged. However, the source claimed that “the rent is paid,” so Something About Her “is not going anywhere anytime soon.”
The insider continued, “They need more regular customers. One of the problems they face is that a majority of the customer base is tourists who are in town on vacation, come once, and don’t return again.” Of course, when the eatery opened, lines formed around the block to try out the delicious-sounding sandwiches.
