Welcome to the premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 20! Woo-hoo! Last season, Shannon refused to make up with Tamra, and Gretchen Rossi was accused of ‘liking’ anti- LGBTQ+ posts. Plus, Tamra was accused of leaking Season 19 storylines to a blogger. Here’s what happened in RHOC Season 20 Episode 1: “Old Friends, New Era.”
What happened in Real Housewives of Orange County Season 20 Episode 1?
Shannon visited Vicki in Puerto Vallarta. Meanwhile, Jennifer introduced her friend, newbie Carmella Garcia, to the group. And Heather’s Valentine’s Day celebration resulted in drama for both Heather and Tamra.
Dos Amigas in Puerto Vallarta
In Puerto Vallarta, Shannon met up with Vicki for some beach time. In her confessional, Vicki said, “It feels so good to be back. This is definitely a woo-hoo moment!”
Noting that she is “different from the last time that I was a housewife,” Vicki added, “Buying the house in Mexico was probably the best thing I’ve ever done.” Vicki and her boyfriend, Michael Smith, “live primarily in Cota de Caza” and then bounce between “La Quinta and my favorite place in Puerto Vallarta.” However, Vicki mentioned there was sometimes conflict between the couple because she was still wrapped up in her business, Coto Insurance.
“The Dos Amigas is way better than the Tres Amigas,” Shannon observed in her talking head. As they left the beach to grab a cocktail, Vicki grabbed Shannon’s arm, causing her to stumble. And down they went! Some things never change.
Eventually, the duo headed out to Andale’s. The “OG of the OC” was treated like a celebrity, which was hilarious. Then, Michael joined the Dos Amigas. “Four years into our relationship, Mike fills my emotional love tank,” Vicki shared in a confessional.
Then, Shannon and Vicki reminisced about their past Tres Amigas trips. “Do you think we can get it back?” Vicki asked. For Shannon, she just wanted “to get to a place of no arguing.” She added of Tamra, “But yet she seems to not want to stop.”
Meanwhile, Vicki and Tamra were estranged for around 18 months and sparred in the media. However, Vicki explained in her confessional that she had “sepsis that went to my brain,” and now Vicki has a different outlook on life. That led to her reunion with Tamra.
Tamra felt abandoned in The Real Housewives of Orange County
Back in the OC, Heather, Gina, and Tamra gathered to dye some scarves. Of course, Heather checked out newly engaged Gina’s sparkler. Heather questioned whether it was a “natural diamond” in her talking head, while Gina explained that the ring was a “prototype.” She added, “This ring is fake as f*ck.” Another mystery solved!
Meanwhile, Heather was having a Valentine’s Hearts and Heels party for the ladies. From the jump, Gina called out Tamra for comments that she made on Jeff Lewis Live. “After how they treated me last year, I’m gonna f*cking blow things up,” Tamra remarked in the flashback. While Tamra said she was kidding, she admitted that is how she felt last season.
“When everybody leaves me crying in my chair,” Tamra said, referencing the Season 19 reunion, “and takes a group picture and leaves me, how would you feel?” Then, Tamra mentioned how the group went to dinner with Gretchen after the reunion. While Heather insisted that she had invited her, Tamra claimed that Gina mentioned the dinner to her, not Fancy Pants. Finally, Gina apologized to Tamra.
Next up, Gina asked what happened during filming for Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Roaring 20th. Tamra shared that the group was dining at The Quiet Woman. Of course, she and Shannon argued, and it became heated. Tamra admitted in her confessional that she called Shannon “a mess” and said that she “can’t get a man.” According to Shannon, she called Tamra a “drunk.”
Heather revealed that it was “embarrassing.” She added that some housewives said “how horrified they were” and “they’ve never seen anything like that.” What shows have these housewives been watching?
Jennifer and Emily bonded in The Real Housewives of Orange County
In Orange County, Jennifer had dinner with Emily. Jennifer and Emily are now close friends. In addition, Emily has embraced taking care of her health. She lost weight and hits the gym every day.
She told Jennifer that she and her husband, Shane, “still deal with a lot” when it comes to their son, Luke’s, health. Luke recently saw a PANDAS expert, which stands for Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections. “So he’s on medication right now. But it’s hard to get him to take the medication because he has an eating disorder,” Emily explained.
“We did try a laser treatment on Luke’s brain. I don’t think it was all that helpful,” Emily said in her confessional. However, changing Luke to another school did make a difference. “That was a big stressor, was him not being able to function within a classroom.”
And it turns out that Jennifer was struggling with her son, Greyson. The 16-year-old was pulled over by the police, and he was going 105 MPH. “I was cussing. I was like, ‘What the f*ck are you doing!’” Jennifer stated. The mom was shaken by her son’s atypical behavior.
Then, Jennifer spilled some tea about Fancy Pants. Heather told Jennifer that her longtime friendship with Tamra “puts her in a box for me.” In her talking head, Jennifer revealed that at the dinner post-reunion, “Heather definitely led the charge” with talking negatively about Tamra. So, is Heather being “massively two-faced?”
An update on the RHOC ladies
Tamra’s daughter, Sophia, is moving to an apartment in OC., and Tamra was struggling with her impending move. Meanwhile, Shannon’s daughter, Stella, wants to stay in Paris and work in hospitality. In addition, Shannon was lonely as an empty-nester.
Apparently, Gina and Travis’ real estate venture, The Gated Group, is doing well. In her confessional, Gina detailed her shock engagement. “We took the kids to Big Bear on a pretty last-minute ski trip,” she explained. In a clip from Gina’s home video, following the proposal, she said, “I think I just blacked out.”
Also, Heather went to visit her mom, Carole, who relocated to the OC from New York City. The conversation became tense when Heather brought up how her mom missed so many day-to-day milestones with her grandchildren.
Another Heather Dubrow extravaganza in RHOC
Heather’s over-the-top Valentine’s party featured a perfume bar, a tattoo station, a bouncy house, and fishing for diamonds. Her goal was to have a “little lightness, and a little love, and a little fun.” The price tag for this soiree was $75,000. Fun is expensive in the OC!
Jennifer brought her friend, Carmella, to the party. “She’s got a little bit of an edge to her. And my God, she used to be a Playmate,” Jennifer said of the newbie.
The ladies arrived, and Jennifer introduced Carmella to the group. “This party is giving like early 2000s Playboy Mansion,” Carmella commented in her talking head. Possibly valid.
And as the “OG of the OC” pulled up, Michael’s daughter was sticking a maxi-pad under Vicki’s armpit. She had a cyst removed, and it was bleeding. Meanwhile, Vicki obtained an exit pass so that she could leave Mexico. She was impatiently waiting for her permanent residency card.
When Carmella introduced herself to Vicki, Emily joked that Carmella should “bow” or “kiss her ring.” That didn’t fly with Carmella. “I’m not trying to bow to anybody. I’m definitely not kissing anybody’s ring,” she said in her confessional. “It’s not happening.”
Meanwhile, Jennifer told Gina about how Shannon had been venting about Heather earlier that day. Of course, Gina spilled the beans to Fancy Pants. “She feels like you aren’t completely honest about your relationship with Tamra, to Tamra,” Gina said. However, Heather insisted, and Gina backed her up, that she had been honest with Tamra.
Tamra hears some upsetting news in The Real Housewives of Orange County
When Tamra admitted that she and Shannon needed to talk, Jennifer went in. “Sometimes we get together, and you’re not there. It’s not always the kindest conversation,” Jennifer explained, adding that she was “tired” of “the fakeness.” She added, “I sat down with Heather, and when she talked about you, she just very much said she puts you in a box, and she can compartmentalize her friends.”
Tamra calmly thanked Jennifer and left without saying goodbye to Heather. When Heather found out that Jennifer shared this information, she scolded her for pushing her relationship with Tamra back a step.
