The newer cast members are shining bright on this season of The Real Housewives of Potomac. To be fair, the entire cast is giving viewers so much life, they’re practically immortal by now. However, a big shout out has to be given to Wendy Osefo & Mia Thornton. Wendy’s coming into her second season with new boobs, a new butt, and a whole new attitude. It’s quite the serve. Mia on the other hand is giving everyone messy chaos which means she fits in just fine.
The foundation for this season appears to be built upon the feud between Gizelle Bryant & Karen Huger. This is a fight that has been underway since the dawn of time. They are living legends, and they tow the line between friends and enemies with expert precision. They give the people what they need, but they also keep it real. It remains to be seen if they can continue towing that line. It feels like this season might be the point of no return.
BAYBAY! The Real Housewives Of Potomac are FINALLY back on our screens. We truly don’t deserve this group of dynamic women, but somehow we remain eternally blessed. Last season got dark and heavy following the physical altercation between Candiace Dillard Bassett & Monique Samuels. However, the latter won’t be returning this season, so perhaps it will be a much lighter vibe. Although they do NOT play in the P.
Besides Mo, all of the previous cast members are returning for another season of fun and drama. Longtime frenemies Karen Huger & Gizelle Bryant are likely going to be at each other’s throats again. Undoubtedly there will be drama with Ashley Darby & her controversial Aussie husband Michael Darby. Robyn Dixon is there too! Mia Thornton is making her debut. She better be fabulous. Sadly for Gizelle, Wendy Osefo is also back and NOT here for her games.
Real Housewives of Potomac finally had their look-at-us season. It’s been around since 2016, but some folks are just waking up to the east coast ladies thanks to Monique Samuels and the hair-grab heard around the world. Her barn dance with Candiace “I’m Not Provoking You” Dillard put the show on the map and brought new viewers to the RHOP fan base. The original cast has remained largely intact. Robyn Dixon has been on board since day one. She has been portrayed as a somewhat tragic figure, living with her ex-husband who cheated on her and seemingly yearning for a reconciliation despite the infidelity.
And that’s basically been Robyn’s party trick since the beginning. Her storyline never ventured far from the Juan Dixon saga. Is Juan still cheating? Will Juan remarry Robyn? But the real question is, will Robyn ever have content beyond Juan and making hats that no one asked for? There has been some chatter that Robyn is stale and offers very little to RHOP, especially on the heels of the Drag Me 2020 tour. Monique has left the building, but is anyone else departing? Apparently not, Robyn is shutting down any speculation she was #firedbybravo.
Currently, Candiace Dillard’s biggest adversary is Monique Samuels, followed close behind by Ashley Darby.
Last season on Real Housewives of Potomac, Candiace’s biggest foe was her own mother, Dorothy Dillard, even though she Wass paying Candiace’s bills. Dorothy tried to get Candiace to uninvited her half-brother from her wedding. She also slapped Candiace in the face with a big purse during a disagreement. Dorothy and Candiace had so much drama last season that Dorothy got her own segment on the reunion.
We’re all pretty familiar with the very basic rules of human nature. One of the first things we learn is not to put our hands on people. Most of us are also told early on to watch what we say. Because in some areas if you are going to talk that talk, please be prepared to walk that walk. That seems to be the overall lesson on this season of Real Housewives of Potomac.
Candiace Dillard was involved in a physical fight with Monique Samuels. Candiace has a mouth on her and uses it frequently. Despite having a run in with her mother’s purse, and Monique’s hands, Candiace seems mostly unafraid to talk that talk. No one will dispute that violence is never the answer, but words are a weapon all on their own. In August, Candiace had some words for blogger, Khyle Paylor, who seemingly sided with Monique in the dispute. Candiace insulted the man physically and wished death on him as well. Sadly, Khyle has passed away. Candiace must have been absent the day we were learning to watch what we say.
Aaaaand the hits keep coming, both literally and figuratively for the Real Housewives of Potomac. Thanks to Monique Samuels not being the one to mess with, the ladies are enjoying a much publicized season. I suppose it would be unfair to give Monique all of the glory, Candiace Dillard’s mouth deserves acknowledgement as well. Right now much of the drama is centered around a physical fight, and Gizelle Bryant couldn’t be happier.
Fortunately for Gizelle, the more she talks about the violence between Candiace and Monique, the less she will have to talk about Pastor Jamal Bryant and his affinity for anointing more than one person at a time. Gizelle resides firmly on #teamcandiace and publicly blames Monique for the fight. Now she’s going the extra mile and claiming Mo wants to destroy Candiace’s life. Apparently Mortal Kombat doesn’t stop when the battle is over, at least not in Potomac.
It seems like Real Housewives of Potomac has one ball this season. But it’s a big ball. A controversial ball. And the ball just keeps on bouncing. The physical altercation between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard was a big deal. Was the catalyst Candiace’s mouth and her hair ultimately paid the price? No one will argue assault is ever “necessary” but can it be “provoked”?
Now that fans are finally seeing the fight for themselves, sides have been taken. Many people think Candiace asked for it. Others feel Monique should have kept her hands in check. One universal question was why Monique didn’t reach out to Candiace to apologize, which seems appropriate after her UFC debut. Now we learn it wasn’t Monique’s decision not to offer amends, because a certain email changed everything.
Alternate title considered for this article: Candiace Dillard Says She Did Not Want Monique Samuels To Turn Her Into A Swiffer Wet Jet. Let me be completely transparent, I do not condone violence. There is rarely a logical reason for violence. Violence as a whole impacts our society and lowers the standards of humanity. But right now, the Real Housewives of Potomac are walking a fine line being the judge, jury, and executioner of Monique in the aftermath of Hell In A Cell.
Viewers are experiencing the fallout of the fight between Monique and Candiace, but the public is very divided. This is not easy because there is no winning hand. Candiace of the “I Can Talk Shit All Day” Dillards vs Monique “Good Thing I Didn’t Have An Umbrella” Samuels. Monique seems to have kind of taken responsibility for her part and says she wants to move forward. But Candiace is still wondering what the hell got her here. Mother Dorothy’s purse has entered the group chat.
