Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans are in luck this season because most people are watching and waiting for Erika Jayne’s potential downfall. While many, make that most, of our Housewives are no stranger to the legal system, Erika and Tom Girardi’s fall from grace has been by far the most unsettling. They didn’t just forget to pay taxes or forge signatures on mortgage loans, Tom allegedly did some very nasty things to some very needy clients.
As a result, Tom lost his job and his reputation. Erika lost her main check, and her nonchalant attitude in the wake of people’s suffering has not won her any fans. Now we’re watching the beginning of the end play out on RHOBH and we have some pretty specific timelines to go by. Erika filed for divorce in November 2020 and implied it was due to Big Tommy’s wandering eye – but technology and the fact that she’s on a tv show is putting holes in that theory.
This season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is coming out of the gate strong. Garcelle Beauvais has already been taking the women to task for their questionable actions. Although she’s moving forward with Kyle Richards, things are still murky with Lisa Rinna. Lisa’s owning that she was a horrible friend, but actions will speak a lot louder. Trust is a fundamental aspect to a relationship. Right now, the trust level is close to nonexistent.
Last week’s episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ended with a monumental argument. New wives Sutton Stracke & Crystal Kung Minkoff got into a fiery back and forth regarding race. Obviously this is quite the sensitive topic, but kudos to Crystal for standing her ground. If Sutton would take the time to listen to what she has to say their feud might be avoided. However, it looks like last season’s golden child is losing her shine after this.
Everyone watching this season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is holding their breath to find out more tea about Erika Jayne’s legal situation. Her divorce from Tom Girardi came at a questionable time, as it coincided with the longtime lawyer facing fraud and embezzlement charges. Mrs. Girardi claimed her 81-year-old husband was cheating on her, but everyone’s wondering whether or not it’s all a sham attempt at protecting their assets.
Tom is being accused of embezzling more than $26 million dollars to victims of horrific accidents and their families, including orphaned children. He can’t practice law anymore, his health is failing and he’s losing his home. Meanwhile, as of episode two, Erika is still prancing around her closets filled with designer clothes (probably deciding what to sell) and hanging with her $40k a month glam squad. It’s left a gross taste in everyone’s mouth to watch.
The big question is whether or not Erika was aware of Tom misappropriating legal funds to afford their lavish lifestyle and her wannabe pop music career. Miss XXPen$ive is doubling down that she didn’t know anything, but I’m with Sutton Stracke on whether or not I believe that. Evidence against Erika, including her signatures on a few questionable documents, point otherwise. But she’s saying she’s nothing but a scapegoat.
Kelly Dodd is not known for mincing words, and that’s basically what makes her popular with certain people. She has been on Real Housewives of Orange County since Season 11, and the lack of filter on her mouth combined with her lack of patience for Vicki Gunvalson endeared to her a large audience. Kelly has weathered several storms on camera, including quite possibly the most erratic weather system that appears at least once a year, Shannon Storms Beador.
Kelly makes a point of letting people know exactly what’s on her mind and it often works against her. She goes for shock value and doesn’t care if the results place her in an unflattering light. Either way, it keeps her name in people’s mouths, which makes Andy Cohen happy. That said, her problematic personality does lend itself to humor… sometimes. She might not be drowning in pesky things like facts, but she can be funny. Recently Kelly and her husband have been traveling on the East Coast and chilling with friends. But don’t worry, she packed
her mask the sarcasm in a carry-on bag.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are off to the races, with a few new faces along for the ride. Garcelle Beauvais is back for round two, and this time she’s not letting Lisa Rinna dance her way out of being held accountable for her actions. Sutton Stracke officially has a diamond and is rumored to feud with everyone, particularly Erika Jayne. Because we know that Erika is obviously not taking responsibility for having a role in her soon-to-be ex-husband Tom Girardi’s legal issues. Kyle Richards’ other sister, Kathy Hilton, has graced us with her presence with her martini chugging and wardrobe full of t-shirts with inspirational quotes. And Crystal Kung Minkoff also joined the group this year and is already bringing more to the table than Erika has throughout multiple seasons.
Crystal is, so far, perfect Real Housewives material. She’s married to a big-time Hollywood movie maker, has an adorable little family and her brother is a major Chinese pop star. To be clear, joining a new group of fabulous ladies, particularly the RHOBH ladies who love a good gang up, can be a struggle. But Crystal is fitting right in and isn’t holding back her opinions of the other women. During last week’s episode, she and Sutton got into it when Sutton started dismissing Crystal’s experiences with racist stereotypes. Sutton has since apologized and Crystal forgave her, but we’re all waiting for that “ugly leather pants” moment that was teased in the trailer.
It looks like the Puppygate Girl Gang did not die with the end of #puppygate. The level of commitment, or whatever blood pact situation that is happening here has become both predictable and somewhat boring. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ current season will revolve around Erika Jayne and the unyielding support of her co-stars. Better make that some of her co-stars.
While Dorit Kemsley has praised Erika for her amazing
acting strength during such a difficult time, the same cannot be said for Sutton Stracke. Sutton has already been clocked for being the least supportive of Erika during the demise of her marriage. Now Dorit seems to think maybe Sutton acted this way to finally earn that diamond. Because implying someone does not believe Erika’s multitude of lies innocense is obviously too mind-boggling to consider.
Against all odds, and a rage-inducing previous season, I’m enjoying Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. So far, that is. I’m especially curious to see how Erika Bamboozle Jayne’s legal troubles will play out on the show. How much is she going to show, how much will she own it? Will the “strongest material on earth” finally let us in to her
I’m also really enjoying how producers changed the cast up. One excellent addition to the show this year is Kathy Hilton, Kyle Richards’ more well-known sister. Let’s face it, Kyle may be a Bravo star but Kathy has always been the one shining with or without a TV show. And there had been talks and rumors for awhile about Kathy joining, so while we don’t get her as a full-time housewife this season, it’s nice to see her on board regardless.
If you’re waiting for any fleeting speck of evidence absolving Erika Jayne from the alleged embezzlement claims against she and Tom Girardi, your wait continues. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: Erika’s Victim Unit is underway and it’s coming with a lot of baggage attached. Most of the baggage is now going for the best offer bid on eBay, but we’re here nonetheless.
As you know, Erika claims she had zero knowledge of Tom’s wrongdoings. Didn’t know about the Lion Air crash mess. Didn’t know about the man who was burned and got duped. But somehow she knew about Tom’s former mistress… While EJ dares anyone to challenge her, there are plenty of folks who are ready and willing to rise to the occasion. It looks like two truths and a lie are three lies and a joke because now we find out Erika was previously subpoenaed in Tom’s fraud cases. We’ll call the following timeline, Exhibit: A.
