Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey has been given a few surprises recently. On July 26, 2019 Cynthia’s boyfriend, Mike Hill, popped the question at the opening of Cynthia’s The Bailey WineCellar. It was a sweet proposal, and it included Mike daughter, Kayla, and Cynthia’s daughter, Noelle Robinson.
In an episode of RHOA that aired in November of 2019, Noelle confided in her mother that she was sexually fluid. Noelle began to explore her sexuality while she was a freshman at Howard University.
What an epic fail that we had the Real Housewives Of Atlanta visit Lindsay Lohan‘s beach club and we don’t get a Lohan sighting or any of the requisite drama?! Instead, we had to pretend that Dina Lohan is some famous friend of Kandi Burruss‘ and the ladies were doing Dina a favor by visiting her daughter’s little beachside bar. But a Lohan was not present. Nor was there a mention of Lindsay’s failed reality show.
So the women are in Greece trying to figure out how goddesses behave. In fairness to NeNe Leakes and Kenya Moore, the original Greek goddesses were a pretty vengeful and petty bunch, ergo probably not above spitting or questioning the moistness level of one’s kitty. Still Nene Leakes is no goddess, and as a mortal her behavior was APPALLING.
Yes, Kenya is a shady bitch who’s nasty-nice and pushes buttons that are way below the belt, but spitting on someone and threatening to assault them as NeNe was doing – NEWP, NEWP, NEWP!
You guys… I am so sorry for the delay in this Real Housewives Of Atlanta recap! I was not prepared, mentally and otherwise, for the Coronavirus quarantine/homeschooling curve. The true pandemic is going to be if all these parents can survive being trapped in the house with their kids trying to educate them using a PBS app and their own foggy remembrances of school. I think I’m going to have mine start by alphabetizing the pantry, then baking me cookies.
The next test will be if I can handle dealing with my husband for the next two weeks… But is any of that really worse than going on an international vacation with Nene Leakes and Kenya Moore? Those two are THE WORST. They are the Coronavirus of their friend group.
Cynthia Bailey has long since moved past her marriage and divorce with Peter Thomas. This season of Real Housewives of Atlanta has even featured her getting engaged to new love, Mike Hill. I’m still on the fence about Mike. But, one thing I can say for sure is that I like him a whole lot more than Peter.
Let me explain. Cynthia and Peter never seemed like a good match to me. Peter was too fiery, too temperamental for our passive Cynthia. Her family hated him so much that they almost sabotaged their wedding. The only castmate that seemed to like him (for a bit) was NeNe Leakes and that ended in her calling him a “bitch.” There was just so much fighting between Cynthia and Peter over money and the ill-fated Bar One that it made me cringe. Then came the
inevitable cheating rumors. While he was still married to Cynthia, Peter was busted on camera inappropriately touching a woman who wasn’t his wife, leading Cynthia to skip his daughter’s wedding. Nothing about the couple made me think they would last. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who saw their divorce coming from a mile away.
The writing has been on the wall since Kenya Moore‘s first instagram post announcing her impromptu marriage to Marc Daly, but they made it official last night when Real Housewives Of Atlanta reported on their split.
Following the he-man, woman-hater benefit Marc hosted where he took advantage of Kenya’s entire Atlanta social network (and used her as unpaid intern), then publicly insulted his wife, before demanding Real Housewives Of Atlanta cameras stop filming him, Kenya tried to flee in an Uber. But Marc makes all the rules for what ‘Ken’ can do and what Ken can’t do is move unless Marc says move.
According to Kenya, Marc jumped into her uber and they proceeded to get in a screaming fight. Marc was so enraged and out of control the Uber driver kicked him out and Kenya banned him from returning to her home. As a domestic violence survivor, Kenya is all too aware of how these situations go and she absolutely made the right choice in creating distance between them when Marc was so angry
On last night’s Real Housewives Of Atlanta Kenya Moore‘s marriage to Marc Daly officially exploded. Ironically at a charity event to raise up black men through positivity.
The only actual positive thing that happened last night was Eva Marcille‘s baby shower. Cynthia Bailey turned Eva’s friend Natalie’s backyard into a garden of paradise. It was a really lovely sunflower-themed event. Shockingly, everyone got along pretty well. Even Kenya and Nene Leakes!
Ever since Marc went over Kenya’s head to decree that NeNe is welcome in his circle, NeNe now feels she has some sort of trump card over Kenya. Nene has just been waiting for validation that she has extended multiple olive branches which Kenya has ignored. She sent multiple texts before filming started, for instance, but Kenya never responded. Obviously that’s cause NeNe has been on block! So has NeNe ever apologized for calling Kenya a buffalo while she was 9 months pregnant? Not that an insincere apology solves everything, as we will soon see with Tanya Sam and Kenya.
There were games and sports galore on last night’s Real Housewives Of Atlanta, but undoubtedly the thing to watch was Marc Daly and Kenya Moore‘s fascinating marriage! And Marc, he’s not playing around when it comes to the rules fo his wife!
When Marc is in the room, it’s literally the only thing anyone can focus on. Everyone circles around, watching, witnessing – it’s almost a religious experience to observe Kenya be de-twirled by Marc’s systematic demands. He’s a drill sergeant, and she’s at [licking] boot camp. Kenya is usually the one spinning everything up, ruling the scene with predictable unpredictable behavior, but when Marc is present she morphs into a shadow of her former self. This reversal of position is both electrifying and depressing.
While Kenya is wrestling with marital mishaps, Cynthia Bailey is wrestling with Open Mike’s revelations. Mike Hill has written a confessional memoir about his past as a philandering ladies man who eviscerated every relationship he’s ever been in. Also, he’s a terrible arguer. And Michelle Obama says couples need to learn how to argue. So now Cynthia wants couples counseling. Which means she did learn something after all from her terrible marriage to Peter Peter Bank Account Eater.
Last night Nene Leakes finally reappeared on Real Housewives Of Atlanta. She probably should’ve stayed camouflaged in season’s past, because I personally have had enough of her martyr act. The same goes for Kenya Moore! You two are only victims of your own arrogance, ladies! And in the middle of it all was Cynthia Bailey, playing the role of the ever-forgiving, ever-loving, ever-obliging friend.
After going way overboard in her supposed clawback to Tanya Sam when Kenya arrived to lunch and called her the c-word, then brought a burnt Cookie Lady to ‘expose’ Paul Judge as a cheater, Kenya still does not at all feel she owes Tanya an apology. Of course she doesn’t.
Kenya’s desperation is showing, and that slip is dingy and frayed! Just like her marriage, and without being able to brag about being a “Mrs” and finally having the perfect life, Kenya needs the relevance of RHOA. Unfortunately Tanya and Cynthia have been caught in the crossfire.
