Longtime Vanderpump Rules fans are already aware that Scheana Shay has hooked up with John Mayer. However, there’s a lot more to the story. In fact, Scheana met him while he was dating Jennifer Aniston, who she met as well when she was working at a members only bar called Grand Havana Room pre-SUR.
Stacie Adams, who you might remember by her maiden name Stacie Hall, used to work there too. If neither of those names ring a bell, you might just recognize her as “Stacie the bartender” from the original run of The Hills. She’s involved in this story too. There’s even a Selling Sunset tie-in to this whole thing.
On Selling Sunset, there is a very clear narrative: Christine Quinn is the designated “villain” (even though she’s the most entertaining one on the show) and Chrishell Stause is the protagonist that we are supposed to root for. On the most recent season, Chrishell said she was blindsided when her husband This is Us star Justin Hartley filed for divorce.
She claimed that he told her that he filed via text message and then 40 minutes later it was front-page news. Most likely, the truth is somewhere in the middle, in regard to just how surprised Chrishell was by her split. Now add this random crossover into the mix: Vanderpump Rules OG Scheana Shay used to be friends with Chrishell and she has some insight on her split from Justin and some tea on why Chrishell (allegedly) ditched their friendship.
When Vanderpump Rules viewers first met Danica Dow last season, she was venting about getting suspended as the assistant manager of SUR after she fought her on-again-off-again boyfriend Brett Willis after he suggested having a threesome.
That sounded like the beginning of an interesting storyline. However, we pretty much only saw Danica serve as a sounding board for Dayna Kathan’s love triangle and whatever Scheana Shay had going on throughout thee season. Yeah, she got into that fight during the season finale and she had that beef with recently fired cast member Max Boyens. However, other than that, her scenes were seemingly left on the cutting room floor.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika Jayne spent several seasons showing viewers very little of her actual life. This season viewers have watched Erika preparing to step onto the Broadway stage as Roxie in Chicago. Unfortunately, the show had to close in March of 2020 because of the coronavirus. Camille Grammer criticized Erika for using the show for self-promotion, and not featuring her real life. Erika has promoted her book and her music on the show a lot.
We also watched Erika verbally spar with Denise Richards’ husband, Aaron Phypers, during Season 10 of RHOBH. Erika does not appreciate husbands getting into housewives’ business.
Below Deck’s Captain Lee Rosbach has had a hard year. Last year around this time he lost his son, Joshua, way too soon, to a battle with addiction. He recently shared some sweet reflections on Instagram about Joshua’s passing a year later. On top of this painful tragedy, the captain’s identity was recently stolen. Apparently, scammers were attempting to extort money from people applying for cruise liner positions and used his name.
Days after this scam was exposed, another a**hole (Captain Lee’s words) assumed his identity to exploit the death of his son. Who does that? The captain excoriated the impersonator on social media, ending his outcry with, “sleep well tonight.” Seriously, why do something so disgusting? And to this man, who would no doubt crush you if he ever saw you? Needless to say, Captain Lee is going through it and fans will be happy to see him doing something meaningful for himself.
The news coming out of the Vanderpump Rules universe has been bleak. And that’s an understatement. OG cast members were fired. If they weren’t fired, fans were calling for their firing. Finally, Villa Blanca closed its doors for good. I know Villa Blanca isn’t technically VPR stuff but if you respect your history, it all started there.
Just when it couldn’t get any worse, sad news from my personal VPR favorite came out. Scheana Marie recently revealed she had a miscarriage. I’m so sad for her because she seems so happy with boyfriend, Brock Davies. Her TikTok is full of them doing challenges and synchronized dances. It’s actually really adorable content. And Scheana has always been really open about wanting to have kids. Whether you love Scheana or not, it’s hard not to feel touched by her loss.
Listen, I get it. The Vanderpump Rules kids (and their boss) are relentless when it comes to staying in the spotlight. They all want a name drop no matter what it’s attached to. That’s sort of what happens when a 7-year old show suddenly drops four cast members for racist behaviors. Especially when two of the four have been around since the beginning. Don’t forget they have suddenly hired relentless PR firms who are churning out any press that they can. All the while these assholes continue to whine about cancel culture. Let’s not even use names here, you all know who I’m talking about. I’m just as sick of seeing them mentioned too. Trust.
So on to some good news. James Kennedy is a year-plus sober. Tom Sandoval is endorsing a new make up line for men. Oh, and it looks like there’s a possible new cast member willing to step up and face this spiraling franchise.
Vanderpump Rules viewers have watched James Kennedy struggle with his sobriety and in his relationships with his co-stars and friends. The beginning of Season 8 of Pump Rules was tough to watch because of the way James was treating his ride-or-die chick, Raquel Leviss.
He sent Raquel nasty text messages, calling her a “slut” and a “whore” because she nearly missed his DJ appearance at TomTom during Pride. James insisted he was sober during the gig, but that wasn’t true. Not cool, James. Not cool.
