Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay made no secret of the fact that she belongs in the Dancing with the Stars ballroom. It was always her dream to compete on the show. So, when her Pump Rules co-star and friend, Ariana Madix, was offered a spot instead on Season 32, Scheana was sad. Then DWTS pro-Gleb Savchecnko weighed in, and Scheana went from sad to mad.
Gleb choreographed her first dance at her nuptials to ex-husband Mike Shay. “I’m not saying bad things about her. I think Scheana is amazing. I really like her,” Gleb stated. “She’s an awesome girl and everything. But as my memory calls, I didn’t think she had a lot of dance experience. That’s what I’m trying to say.” Then he made a shady dig, stating that “maybe she’s improved” and “got much better now.”
Scheana clapped back at Gleb
During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Scheana explained how she felt about Gleb’s remarks. “I thought that was very rude and uncalled for of him,” Scheana stated. “But it is what it is. It is OK, I wouldn’t want him as my partner anyway.” If Scheana joins the cast, she wants to partner with Alan Bersten.
She continued, “We filmed a scene for Vanderpump Rules, which is also the first time I have ever danced in my life,” the singer explained. “I have never claimed to be a dancer. For the first partner dance I’m doing, he was whipping me around. I even found that video recently and I’m like, ‘I thought I did pretty good.’”
Scheana’s husband, Brock Davies, also questioned Gleb’s statements. Brock pointed out that the show takes people without a dance background and teaches them how to dance. “Maybe Gleb could teach her how to dance and be a better coach?” Brock commented. That is an excellent point. Fingers crossed that Scheana gets an invite to hit the ballroom.
Dancing with the Stars is expected to return to ABC later this year. Vanderpump Rules continues Tuesday nights at 8/7c on Bravo.
