At this point it is surprising when a reality TV star does not host a podcast. It has essentially become a rite of passage. Who’s the latest to join the podcast craze?
None other than Kim Zolciak herself. On one level, this is not at all surprising since Kim has never had a business opportunity that she didn’t like. On the other hand, Kim just had an epic (and extremely offensive) meltdown during the Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 10 reunion, so it’s a little surprising that anyone gave her the go ahead to host her own show.
One June 27, the mother of six shared the big news in an Instagram post. She wrote, “I am so EXCITED to finally be able to share with everyone my podcast!! It will be full of positivity, fun, life coaching, parenting struggles and advice, beauty/fashion and so so much more!! It’s me unedited and unfiltered!! The REAL [tea] You definitely don’t want to miss this! SUBSCRIBE and don’t forget to leave me a rating and review! LINK IS IN MY BIO.”
Yes, that pretty much looks like every other podcast announcement that reality TV stars have posted for the past couple years, but there do seem to be some references to her Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion freak out. For one thing, Kim claims “it will be full of positivity.” This immediately brought me back to Andy Cohen telling Kim, “There was nothing positive, unfortunately, in your story from the season. It was all combative.”
She also claimed, “It’s me unedited and unfiltered!! The REAL [tea] You definitely don’t want to miss this!” This seems to be Kim pulling that textbook reality star move of “blaming the editing” for a scandal.
