Hey look, Jax Taylor had a meltdown! In other news, water is wet… Yes, the crew on Vanderpump Rules are once again navigating a bump in the road of friendship. There’s always that one person in your life that makes careless mistakes and then proceeds to blame someone else for their
stupidity poor decisions. You could almost say that is the premise of Pump Rules in a nutshell.
Jax is going through it with best friend, Tom Sandoval. These two can’t agree on anything. Exhibit A: the pastor Jax and Brittany Cartwright originally chose for their beer cheese wedding. When the officiant decided to publicly share his thoughts on the LGBTQ community, pretty much everyone was offended. Jax seemed to be the most butthurt when Tom chimed in on the dilemma and took his ire straight to social media. Naturally. Now Tom is responding to Jax’s outburst and has some words for his buddy.
Jax managed to attack Tom’s character, work ethic, and trample on his feelings during his latest rant. Is this the “changed” man we have been hearing about for two seasons? Tom has had a second to digest Jax’s less than stellar review of his personality. And, he would like a moment.
Tom sat down with Us Weekly and had this to say, “It seems like he’s [Jax] angry and projecting.” Gee, you think Dr. Freud? Tom added, “Jax will say that I’m doing everything for the wrong reasons. Again authenticity is important to me and anything I ever do and say on the show is to be truthful, open and honest about my life and how I am feeling.” Truthful, open, and honest are not the words that come to mind when thinking about this show.
Tom continued, “I don’t see a changed person when he [Jax] acts like this. What’s most upsetting is when Jax says things that he knows are not true just to try to hurt me.” With all due respect, does anyone think Jax has really changed? I mean, aside from Brittany of course.
This time, it isn’t all about the pasta, it’s all about the pastor. On a good day, criticizing someone’s wedding is a touchy subject – enter Lisa Vanderpump! Lisa made a personal plight to both Brittany and Jax to find a suitable replacement to conduct their ceremony. Though other cast members discussed it as well, Jax seems to feel first blood was drawn by Sandoval. “Yes, it was bothering me before and it was all over the internet – but I didn’t want to be the one to mention it. As Lisa had brought it up first then I felt it important to ask the question,” Tom said.

Tom also shared, “I’ve experienced friends who are gay being influenced by these religious opinions and it has seriously affected their lives. Authenticity has always been important to me ever since I’ve been on the show and if I didn’t say something then I would have been being inauthentic.” Unless the person in question is your co-worker who wrote racist tweets when he was 19, but it’s fine because it was a “youthful mistake”.
Jax was fairly vicious during his tantrum, and it hurt Tom’s feelings. “For cast members to say that I don’t want other people to be happy is extremely hurtful and totally contrarian to my nature.”
Tom insists, “I was excited for Jax and Brittany to get married and I’m sure they both knew that.” I don’t doubt Tom was happy for Brittany and Jax. As happy as you can be for a reformed serial cheater and his
blind naive bride.

Though Jax stated having Tom in his wedding was a mistake that he regrets, Tom seems to be letting it go. “He’s kind of impulsive, he’s mercuria, he’s Jax Taylor,” he said. “And then he sort of recalibrate and he calms down and I think he’s settled down now.” Soooo, kind of like a toddler, amirite?
